Whats the scoop on Dolphan Stan?

I have noticed him in here...since probably the time I started.
Is this guy for real? Is he in favor with the long-timers on here? Is he a real raw-raw guy in the community? Very hard to read him, and now he has a thread about retireing. Retireing from what?

Just curious,

ahhh he's harmless...and a very serious fan. He has done charity work and been involved with the Dolphins for years, I requested a reconsideration of his thread going into spam, and staff was generous to accomodate me. He has had the chance to do things as a fan, that most of us, me included, could only dream of.

I have seriously been hoping this is the situation. I was hedging on whether he is a class-a nutjob or just someone so consumed with the Phins that he really doesnt care....

Glad to see its a bit of both.:wink:, and I will treat him as so. Pretty much just like me but a bit more extreme I guess.
 
The guy makes fun of himself and enjoys entertaining people. Like Marty said, he is harmless. He has never insulted or tried to offend anyone and, believe me, people have given him plenty of reason.

What ticks me off is when people harass and are mean to him. If people don't like his threads, they need to respect him and everyone else enough to stay out of them.
 
Mal, I feel the same way... I sit here embarrassed sometimes at the venom of his attackers.. and he has never, not once that I have seen, responded back in anger. Personally, I'd LOVE to sit him down and feed him beers and get him talking.

I was thinking the same thing. Bet the guy has some serious tales to tell.

I have also noticed that he is VERY good about turning the other cheek. Hope I learn to do it as well as he does with time.
 
hmmm, it appears, I have spoke to soon, his thread is back in spam... I just want y'all to know, I think that is ef't up, that WE, a Miami Dolphins board would treat him and his thread like so much trash when the lounge is chock full of worthless bullcrap threads... I am disappointed.
 
I asked Crunch to move it back to the Lounge where it belongs

I'd love to hear those stories too. Even if they aren't great, I have a feeling he'd make them pretty fun.
I have to say that I'm very impressed with how well he handles himself. I don't think there are many of us that would take that kind of abuse without some sort of retaliation.

I wouldn't sweat the guy publicly, but I think he *likes negative as well as positive feedback, as is typical with attention seekers. So don't y'all feel too sorry for him, IMO. He's getting what he wants via the forum.
 
Somewhere along the line the staff decided that his threads belonged in spam so his latest thread got ping ponged depending on the staff member looking at it.

We have changed that now.He is harmless and he has even developed a fan club.We will be policing the bashers instead of Stan.
