Whats up with you Pessimist?!

We have good quality in my opinion and I think this team will do a hellavah lot better than most of these "fans" seem to believe. I see a lot of young talent acquired through these drafts that are blowing me away. (Jimmy Wilson, Moore, Gates, Long, Hartline, Bess, Carpenter, Odrick, Misi, Reshard Jones was 5th round, Vontae, Sean Smith) WHO THE F*** said the dolphins don't develop young talent?!?! I've read that on these forums as well....Remember the Superbowl bound Dallas team last year?! Their fans and media were convinced they were that best and they sucked horribly.

Did you guys pick Arizona to play Pittsburg in the superbowl a few years ago? how about Chicago winning the division from GreenBay, Oakland going 6-0 in their division?! STOP thinking you guys are experts (who go around posting who we should and should not get...like Brady Quinn :p ) and can run this team with your eyes closed. Ross as done everything he can to get this team going straight.

And what the heck with seeing a couple people post the Fins not taking chances like Vick, Wtf who the hell would have thought vick would turn into what he did? McNabb is washed up, and Orton is NOT as good as you think he is. We all wanted Culpepper?!?! Feely?!?! Remember shouting for Rosenfels to get a chance once upon a time?!?! Screw this, I'm excited for the new season to start. Support your friggin team and stop being a hater.

Edit: Don't Forget about the Free Agent Pickups like Dansby, Wake, Marshall, Burnett, Trading for cb Sapp, and teh like this team has done to get better. Bush for excitment?! Our owner has spent a lot of money in the free agent world as well, even for bust like Smiley...we have some close and tought losses last year...I"m not giving up on this team!!

Yes, Ireland has done a fair job, but that's like saying my knee surgery went great, except I have this weird limp and I can't feel my toes.

I like the moves they've made, and some, not so much. Everyone makes mistakes in player acquisition. That's a given. What it all boils down to is, this regime has failed horribly...TWICE at the most important position. Outside of a legendary defense such as the '00 Ravens, if you don't have a QB, you have no shot of winning anything significant in the NFL.

They had a shot at Matt Ryan, they take Long instead who is great but he's not a QB. YOU DON'T PASS UP ON A POTENTIAL FRANCHISE QB TO DRAFT ANY OTHER POSITION IF YOU DON'T HAVE A QB. This past draft, they had an opportunity to draft Mallett in the 2nd round if they wanted to, and they pass for a RB which is the most interchangeable position in the game. Regardless of how Mallett turns out, a prospect with 1st round potential who slides that far becomes a huge value pick, especially when it's a QB!

I won't speculate on the trade up possibilities to get Ponder or Gabbert. For all we know, maybe multiple teams were bidding and the cost got to high, although I would've been willing to do what the Jets did when they aggressively traded up for Dirty Sanchez.

I am referring to white folks. They make up only 15% of the population in Miami-Dade County. This city is obviously huge, but you asked why there's so many fans from other teams, and that's why. Most of the white folks that live here are transplants that come mostly from NY, but also largely from those cities you mentioned. The rest of the population are immigrants from Cuba, and various other latin american countries that don't follow football.

Here's Gus Frerotte expanding on that idea at an autograph signing in Miami a few years back.

Wow. A poster that gets it.

its not luck whebn u dont draftv a guy or prioritize OL and DL over a damn qb.

Since 2000 (Not including this the past two Brafford, Tebow, and this year...too early to tell) 16/26 are either out of the league or busts as 1st round draft picks. The other 10/26 include Freeman, Sanchez, Stafford, Flacco, Ryan, Rodgers, Roslesberger, Rivers, ELI Manning, Vick

As you can tell even some of those are iffy, the rest just have not lived up to expectations, ESPECIALLY not these fin fans expectations.

Heres the list http://seahawkblue.com/showthread.php?18107-OT-(sort-of)-List-of-QBs-Drafted-2000-2009

Edit (would have been 9/26 if Vick hadn't made a WTH comeback, Lol)

Please explain what you mean by that post, because it sounds like you're suggesting the Dolphins shouldn't draft a QB in the first round because most don't pan out? Doesn't make sense to me.

It doesn't matter if most QBs don't pan out, you still need one to have success. Yes, there's exceptions, but look at all the top teams. They all drafted QBs in the first round for the most part:

Tampa Bay
Pittsburgh
Baltimore
Indianapolis
Phillip Rivers
Eli Manning
Mark Sanchez
Donovan McNabb

......past and present, the list goes on

@finominal

I mean teams are finding ways to win without 1st round draft pick QBs
In the last 12 superbowls (since 2000) 7 were won by NON-First round draft picks.
So if we would have drafted one and we still had the same records you would have been happy?! Please...

no we did not. The OL was a mess still. we draft pouncey and with berger, who looked good i thought vs. atlanta, teh center pos is locked down. This years draft and FA's brought speed and spreadability. The OC is the ultimate full deck IMO. Henning was predictable. This is a league wide known fact. We will not be predictable IMO. If Henne cant do it now, then he truly is done in Miami. But by the same token, I do not see the henne haters wanting him even if he ends up with a 90+ or close qb rating.

Don't be ridiculous. If Henne somehow had a 90+ QB rating, we're competing for a division title and possibly a bye in the playoffs.

I've been a football nut for many years, and I like to think I know a lot about football, but I'm still just a fan. It frustrates me to no end that these people do this for a living, and they continue to not put enough value in the QB position!!!! The most important position on the field! We see it, why don't they?

We're not "Henne" haters. We simply want a QB FOR ONCE who can guide the team and win games for us, instead of winning in spite of the QB.

Teams are finding ways to win without 1st round drafted QBs. They are? I didnt know that. Maybe you should break that down further. Which teams are these. Or do you just mean the Patriots who got lucky with Brady and the Saints who have Brees and he just happened to be the first pick of the 2nd round. That must be it. Yea, teams are really doing a lot of winning with these phantom QBs you speak of.

7 Super Bowls in the last 12 won by non first rounders huh. Yea, 4 of those were Brady by himself. Get real. Way to bogus the numbers to spin bs in favor of your argument.

Teams like Buffalo, Cleveland, Detroit, Washington, Houston, etc. have done far less over the past 10 years and are likely to not do anything this year either. However, their fans show up to the games, support the team and have some sort of optimism entering this season. The Dolphins just have an overall ****ty fanbase.

I agree with most of your posts but IMHO you're way off here.

I live in south Florida, and I can't remember the last time a game was blacked out. Yes, I know that TV stations step in and by tickets sometimes at the last minute, but so what? We're a bad fan base because we choose not to spend our money on bad product? So what if Buffalo and other cities practice blind optimism instead of being realistic?

Just because it's a sport doesn't mean it's not a business. You wouldn't show blind optimism to a restaurant if they consistently put out bad product, and that's exactly what the Dolphins have been doing for a long time now. They're still my team, but they're not sucking me into the optimism thing anymore. They have to show me.

3 of those...if you don't like the facts then at least post your own correctly

Yea, the show up to the games.............with paper bags on their heads. Im not even making that up either. Im sure you have seen the games. The idea that our fanbase is inferior to other fanbases because a lot of us are really fed up and down on the team right now is just ridiculous.

WV is that you? You changed your screen name?

wow, when you are comparing yourselves to those teams you know you are in trouble. Things are actually looking up for all those teams whereas Miami is stagnant and heading south. People do realize you may get swept in AFC East this year right?

In 10 years has this organization given you a reason NOT to be a pessimist?

Look at the track record. Look at the facts.

You have to EARN opimisim.

This regime has only been here for three years played and one upcoming season. And yest they have give me plenty of reason to not a pessimist. Where do I start?

Cameron Wake
Mike Nolan
Randy Starks, Kendal Langford, Tony McDaniel,
Vontae Davis, Sean Smith, Nolan Carrol
Karlos Dansby, Brandon Marshall Davone Bess.
Reggie Bush, Jake Long,

AFC Title, 11-5 Season, Top Three Defense..

Poster Boy for why family members should use birth control.

He was not comparing those teams to the Dolphins he was showing that despite the product those teams put on the field their fans still support them.

And the Dolphins are far from 'stagnant.'
