I wonder why all the vets besides shulters, zach, and JT think its there last game. You think saban told them somthing.

I mean traylor, madison, carter, holliday, I hope saban learned from getting rid of patrick that we need a vet corner and poole and daniels as backups.

Just seems that with all this talk vets seem they will be leaving and already know it.

I see Daniels as a starter, and hopefully Poole also when he is healthy.

I think is good that they don't feel like they'll be back no matter what like when Wanny was here....I think they know that we have some rookies that are gonna be very good players and Nick's gonna make a move on that direction. But Nick knows that he needs some vets too so he'll always keep a few of them.

Ozzy rules!! :guitar:

Well, I think all of them are different cases, so I wouldn't draw any mass conclusions from it.

Traylor, for example, is old and hurt. Madison is coming on strong after a weak first half of the season.

At any rate, I don't think it seems like they know they're leaving as much as they don't that they're staying.

to me, its a sign that they really want to be here and think they can be a part of something special. they hope they can be around for it. its a very good sign, imo

We clearly know its a #s game ....

They 'know' Vickerson / Wright will be on the roster next year ... and if we pick up any more young talent ... well - there you go !

They said they'd like to be here, so they aren't being negative about it ... they are professionals and they are just being realistic ....

The only one that is truly safe is CARTER ... HOLLIDAY 'should' be as well - but you just never know .... TRAYLOR and ZGONINA are not safe at all !

LB and S are much more of a priority though .... and SCHULTERS will be expecting a pay day of sorts to stay here

its funny though, i always see zgonina on the block or rarely in and i always hear his name and see him making plays

Most of these guys were signed to deals that were essentially one year deals to hold down the fort while Saban got younger guys in to learn his system. He wanted Vets to show the youngsters how to play the game, how to prepare, etc. Next year it will be his team with his players. Some of the Vets wont be here, they are just being honest.

I think they are lamenting that they may not be around for the great success that this team is headed for.

I believe that the contracts of most of those named are very short. Some will be kept.Others will not.It depends on a cost_benefit analysis.

Where did you get this info from? Here? That story is just about Madison and mentions nothing else about other players who feel their time is limited.

I can't imagine that Saban would say anything to players at this point that would take their minds off the remaining games.
