Whats with all the UK fans?

I haven't been here long, but I've noticed rather alot of UK fans. How did you all become fans?
 
ace vantura! and dan marino. he was the first person i saw play. plus i love miami.
 
Is it like this over there as well? I find it hard to believe 15 years after Ace Ventura that most football fans over there like the Fins?
 
i cant speak for anyone else really on the ace venture thing but many people do support the fins here. it could be because of american football being big in the 80's when dan played. just a guess. it is odd how many UK fin fans there are, thats true.

Yup , and that's why most of the UK fans are guys in their 30's because they started being Dolfans in the 80's.Plus after our game there in 2007 even more will fall in line.Next is Russia!!!
 
I can't really remember when I started following Miami but it was part due to my utter fascination in Marino's presence and half for my love of South Florida.
 
Seems to be a lot of Canadian fins too. What ever the reason it's good to see so much support outside the state and country.
 
Like a lot of other people mentioned, it was the football 'boom' of the mid eighties which first got me into the game.
