I love the guy, he is a fricking BEAST, but lately he hasn't been able to do crap, every time the ball is handed to him, it is either for no gain or a loss, is he lossing it or is it the 8 in the box the are putting against us?

I have noticed how slow Ronnie looks when trying to turn the corner to the outside. He looks like a guy who runs a 4.7 in the 40. It would be nice to have an explosive running back to get around the outside

Not much he can do when there is nothing to get. He takes a lot of inside handoffs and for whatever reason the O-line has crapped out on run blocking the last few weeks.

I personally think the loss of Cobbs has hurt us big time. His blocking was what made the wild cat go.

Yea I noticed that 2 since he has been out our running game has gotten weaker.

Also for Ronnie Its like everytime he touches the ball our O-line decides that they can't block. there are usually 2-3 guys in the backfield when he gets the ball and then has to break those tackles just to get a no gain.

Yeah, man it would be awesome to have someone like Ricky Williams who could get around the end and spurt downfield.

Lately some of the pulling guards are faster than Brown. In the 4th, when we needed to win the game or go home, they fed the ball to Brown was getting losses - instead of to Ricky who had an average of near 5 yards per carry.

The single biggest problem with this team is that the OC and DC are incapable of understanding what's happening in the game right in front of them and capitalizing on the positives while limiting the negatives.

9 people in the box has a lot to do with it. Can't really blame the defense though, why wouldn't you put 9 in the box? Hell put 11 in the box, our WR's would drop the wide open pass anyways.

the coaching staff needs to take a page out of belicheks book. Play the best players regardless of their salary. ricky williams is better than ronnie brown. everybody is better than joey porter. a couple weeks ago adalius thomas was inactive because he wasnt producing even though he was a big name free agent they signed.

Its a combo of not gettig enough carries (although Ricky is looking strong right now) and us having 0 passing threat....it all goes back to needing a bigtime outside threat. When teams put 8 and 9 in the box it makes it difficult to be patient.

Agreed but RW is not RW in his prime and RW does not have the hands of RB..., we actaully could stand to line up in the "I" and work on some drive blocking..., to get RB going forward...,and later in the game when the D is softening up run PA PA run PA the sand-lot stuff is killing our mojo..., we never throw to our backs out of any PA formations....

Henne even looked stupefied by that call where he was lined out as WR..., and was suposed to throw downfield against the grain that PW stuff right there..., after the play Henne did not look like a "believer" in that play call...

I still don't think one is that much better than the other, today. Ricky is more of a homerun hitter whereas Ronnie is not as likely to rip off a 60 yard TD run. But Ronnie is a better blocker, has better hands and is much more of a grind it out back.

I'll say this again...as I've said many other times...why can't we just be happy to have two VERY good running backs? It always has to be one is better than the other. Who cares! We have a dymanic running back combo...lets enjoy it.
