I have seen at least 10 games where Brooks did some sort of bonehead move that cost his team the game. He is also an awful crunch-time player.

That was only one argument against Brooks, the guy has shown for several seasons that he can rack up stats and yet do nothing with them. Here's a few more knocks on him....
Never once broken 60% completion percentage. David Carr, who has never had half the offensive line Brooks has had, has broken 60% twice. Including this past season where he led the Texans to an NFL-worst 2-14 record.
That best season you talk about.... Coincidentally, that's the same season when Deuce McAllister had over 1600 yards rushing and another 500+ receiving. Even Ryan Leaf would look good with a running back that amasses over 2,100 yards. Add to that arguably the best center in the NFL, a pretty good offensive line overall, one top 10 receiver in Joe Horn, a good #2 guy in Stallworth, a good pass-catching tight end in Boo Williams and you get....
Nothing. Because that's all Aaron Brooks has done for the Saints, make them good on paper.

I for one would see no problem bringing in brooks to a contract that is not very expensive, and give him a chance to prove himself. we would not bring him in as qb of the future, he would have to earn that. We would draft a qb and let he and Lemon develope, and if Brooks gets it done or doesnt determines what we will do next. I think many of you are afraid of getting brooks because you think he would be brought in as out qb of the future guaranteed. But I dont see why we wouldnt upgrade the qb position (brooks is better than Gus, arguing this point with some of you is ridiculous). Furthermore, our GM Muehller is the one who brought brooks to New Orleans, so if hes as bad as some of you say, I guess we should get rid of our Gm, right? Brooks is a good qb who has the skills to be great, and has consistently put up great numbers. If he could limit his mistakes he would be one of the best qbs in the league. why not take a chance on the guy?
