The thread titled Required: Dolphin fans with really good memories got me wondering. What is your most favorite Miami Dolphin memory, the one that makes you go back and smile every time?

Mine would have to be the Leon Lett fiasco on Thanksgiving. It was just a brutal Thanksgiving because my grandpa was in the hospital two hours away and my mom and older brother were up visiting him when a blizzard hit. It was just my dad and I, and we're both huge dolphin fans. I think we had frozen pizza for thanksgiving dinner. I remember we were both squatting in front of the TV for that field goal, and then when we missed it we were just devastated...for about five seconds, then it was jumping up and down and high fives.

You get the idea...what's yours?

Since my days watching Marino involved me being very young, I'm unable to cite any games from his great years.

For me? It goes like this:

Last year MNF home against the eventual Super Bowl Champion New England Patriots, 29-28.

The Thanksgiving Game two years ago at Dallas.

Two years ago in Washington, where Ears came in and put a fire under Ricky.

Same as yours, was the first Dolphins game i ever watched

Dolphins defeat Bears, Monday Night Football, 1985.

I actually do remember both Super Bowl wins, but I was like 7 or 8 watching at home with my family. Fun, but it was just a tv show, then, if you know what I mean. In 1985, I was at school at Syracuse, surrounded by Bills, Pats and Jets fans taunting me about how my team was gonna get smoked on national tv. There's not a lot that's more satisfying than having a good gloat over several dozen truly deserving gloatees.

Hmmmmmmmm.......... I swear I don't know how to pick out a favorite memory. Hoisting Shula on the team's shoulders with the scoreboard in the back flashing "Dolphins are perfect"?

That come from behind playoff win over Indy in 2000 was pretty awesome as well: triumph of heart over hype.

Marino- jets-the spike!!! mark ingram had a monster game...

Jay vs. the raiders except in the playoffs.

The game that ended the Jests streak against us.

The bittersweet denver game where Jay broke his finger...

Oh man after Elam nailed that what, 56 yarder to put them ahead, I was near cryin.

Then Mare nailed that 53 yarder and was all "HAHA ELAM, WE WIN."

And Chambers and Jay were all. "Owwww, we'll be back in a few games."

And the Dolphins playoff hopes were sunk in the hands of Ray "Turnover" Lucas.

meeting mark clayton and mike charles in a strip bar in fort walton beach florida..

the green frog... great night

Yes all those games were great, some of my more recent favorites as well.

Let me add the Denver game in 02? I believe it was, when Elam nailed a 55-56 yarder, dont remember the exact distance, and then Jay drove us back down the field for Mare to kick a 53 yarder to win the game.

Also, vs the Raiders where Jay rushed for the game winning TD.

Miami-St.Louis Cards.....Thanksgiving day game.....Conrad Dobler who had just broke AJ Duhe's knee, was on OUR sideline mouthing off....Larry Little steps off the sideline and hit the focker right in the middle of his facemask..and knocked the bitc*h out....first lick.....fade to commercial with Larry Little....we all grew up.....on McArthur....McArthur milk !

That was my favorite. The Bears were threatening to break our unbeaten streak
on their way to the SB.All the old timers from that perfect season were there in the stands.Griese,Csonka,Kiick,Buonoconti etc.

Don Shula came up with a great game plan and we took them apart. There was a lot of pride displayed by that team.

Another great one was the Chargers classic playoff game where we were behind 24-0 just before the half when in desperation to get something going we tried a hook and lateral to Nat Moore who scored. The game went into double overtime before we lost on a missed FG.

The fake spike game was another favorite. So was SB8 were Csonka dominated the Vikings.

BTW we have all of these games on the Classic games thread which is indicated in my sig.(At the present time the site we use is under mainanance)

The Monday Nighter against the Bears...probably my fave game ever.

When we beat the 11-1 Jets 49-3 on a Monday night behind Lorenzo Hamton's 200+ yards rushing...

The win over the Chiefs in the Wld Card Game when Stoyanovich hit a 59 yarder right before the half and Dan hit Clayton in the end zone on a ten yard out in front of the All-Pro Albert Lewis...

I have too much stuff to remember...so many great moments...we are back big time...

Taking control of the Super Bowl in the Perfect Season

Don't let anybody fool you, 30+ years later. Dolphin fans were anything but confident going into that game, despite the 16-0 record. Griese was a questionmark after 3+ months on the shelf, and Washington had just destroyed a Cowboy team that embarrassed us in the Super Bowl a year earlier.

Maybe early in the 2nd quarter you could see we were seizing control and it was legit; we were the better team. The rest of the way I knew I was watching history unfold and it was spectacular. Just too bad the score wasn't as dominating as the performance, after Warfield's long TD catch was called back by a motion penalty, and of course Garo's goof.

The worst memory BY FAR, I mean 1000 times and then some, was the loss to Oakland in the '74 playoffs. We were just seconds from hosting Pittsburgh in the AFC Championship Game with a great chance to win 3 straight titles. But our two great safeties, Scott and Anderson, got hurt in that game and were not on the field in that devastating final drive. Stabler picked us apart. I cried for 3 hours. Csonka, Kiick and Warfield were leaving. The dynasty was obviously over.

The '81 playoff loss to San Diego was zero in comparison, just one mush team losing to another. We were down 24-0 at home in the playoffs, extreme vulnerability on display. Either team would get squashed at Cincinnati a week later, an absolute given. I really can't believe the press that loss to the Chargers continues to receive.
