Since his criticism of the coaches on the last play of the GB game, Wheeler has 11 snaps vs Da Bears, with Trusnick the same 11, and 14 vs Jax, with Shepard getting 17 at SOLB. nothing more than my opinion that he is in Philbin's Dog House.

Think what you will of him, for many not much, but he played well this year, and is much better on the strong side over Trusnick or Shepard. I have to question if Phlbin is masking the best choice for the team if in fact it is because of Wheeler's comments. The other two are not close to his talent level.

Misi+Jenkins is the best situation we can be in. Anything else that causes other LBs such as Wheeler in is a weakness. Wheeler's play put him in the doghouse, his words locked him in there

He should be on the street and not in the dog house.

I would have cut him post June 1 designation.

Wheeler spends so much time in the dog house when he comes to work he doesn't know whether to shake hands or sniff butts...

Wheeler is one of the worst LB's I've ever seen. That pass that Rogers threw to win the game a few weeks ago simply blew my mind. Wheeler watched Rogers the entire way. He watched the ball coming to the receiver and rather than make a play on the ball he decided to tackle the f'in TE!?!

He's garbage.

Gotta survive this year with Wheeler, then we can work on re-building the LB corp. Got some good young guys to start with, but Wheeler and Ellerbe have to go.....

Trusnik back to special teams as well.

Wheeler should have never been signed. This coaching staff has done everything they possibly can to put his overpaid butt on the field, change positions, designed scheme, let him blitz (supposedly what he does best) and still he sucks. This guy shouldn't even be on the team. Only reason he's still here has more to do with his salary and the cap than his play.

Wheeler is the worst coverage linebacker the Dolphins have had since Akin Ayodele.

Let's take a look at how he ranks vs all NFL 4-3 OLB, and there are few good ones.

Pass rush- #15of 31, run stop- #12 of 38, coverage- #18, and #15 by NFL. Tackling- tied for #1 and has not missed one all year. Overall- #7.

How could there be such a difference of opinion? Could it be that maybe some are basing it on last year, and little to do with his play this year or, maybe just want someone to pick on?

I don't think he's worse than Trusnik. At least Wheeler has the speed and quickness to catch someone once he's beaten. Thankfully defenses haven't targeted Trusnik as much in the passing game as they should.

Yep he's been pretty good this year. None of our LBs, outside of probably Jenkins, can cover worth a damn. I wonder if his lack of plays is because of the defense that we've run the last 2 weeks, plus McCain and Jordan coming back taking snaps. Then you've got Fede and Sheppard that are getting plays at LB.

disagree with you on this one Hayden. cutting Wheeler would only save $200K and give us $4m in dead cap space. the contract he got from Ireland all but guarantees he is on the roster in 2015...god help us.
