When all is said and done, will Jeff Ireland go down as the worst ever gm in Miami?

My God some people have no memory on this board. I am no Ireland apologist, in fact I had no problem with the thought of firing him at the end of last season, but the man had a pretty decent draft last year. He also has in the past brought some good free agents in Dansby, Wake, and even Incognito has not been to bad. He made what turned out to be a pretty good trade to pick up Reggie Bush last year, and this year he has already signed the best running back from the cfl. If you think for a second that spielman and wanstadt did a better job than ireland, then you are probably part of the group that thinks that matt moore is a quality starter in this league. God help us if this mentality grabs hold of our franchise again. I'm not sure how I feel about the Marshall trade yet, but at least I will let it play out before i pass judgement. Spielman better! you have to be kidding me.
they said that there in win now mode, let's just hope they sign manning! Spielman was way worse!

It's getting there. His 'smartest guy in the room' tactics are killing the Dolphins. Not willing to gamble on young QB prospects like a Mallet, instead reaching for the Koa Misi's of the world.

Trading back in the first round, and drafting a 34 DE in Jared Odrick, when you have sh*tload of them already on your roster. And the PR disaster that was the Dez Bryant situation. It's frusturating, all around.

Great points dude...

I'll tell ya what, if we go 1-15 or worse and all the draft picks from the class are off the team within 3 years like the loan year Randy Mueller was in charge, we can discuss this.

we're not smart enough to go 1-15 when we need to...these guys will screw that up somehow...guaranteed...should have laid down like the colts did and especially dwight freeney did this year...

6-10 ... brilliant!! Since you like to cred him for the past, 7-9 & 7-9. FUBAR FAIL in anyone's rating system!!

Yes, Mueller sucked too. Our last three GMs are/were awful.

We have seen a fair share of awful GM's come thru Miami. What I want to know, when it is all over with, will Ireland go down as the worst ever?

Yep....Ireland is already the WORST GM in NFL history, thus you are correct

He is getting into Spielman territory, dangerously close id say...for all these people saying we are overreacting?? we are putting all our eggs in a basket containing a 36 y/o QB who is coming off a debilitating injury, someone who is not completely on board with us as of yet, plus we shipped away our best skill player for a bag of marbles, we never have any backup plans, and his two best draft picks have been offensive lineman, who have "led" us to mediocrity...

this marshall trade would be equivocal to Speilman if he traded Ricky the year after we gave up all those 1st rounders for him and he got us 1800 yards rushing...

we somehow made it out of that nightmare, just to make the same errors by hiring these ****ing clowns from Dallas, who have yet to win squat with the team they largely left behind there...

im beyonddddddddddddd pissed...

Playing hard for Tony screwed us in the end.

I say yes. It's one thing to made bad decisions, and/or do nothing to improve a team. It's another thing to make deliberate decisions that fans, players, and commentators think are stupid, and deliberately make the team worse. No one wants to play for Miami. No one. And at this point, I'm pretty sure it's because they know that Ireland is a terrible, arrogant, foolish GM.

I am so glad we have a psychic scout on the board. You should apply for Irelands job. I notice you left out the decent job he did with the free agent signings i mentioned and what turned out to be a decent trade with bush. thats okay. i understand you have to be so much smarter than ireland. this whole sky is falling mentality on this board is so frustrating that im writing to defend a guy i dont really like. just relax and let it play out. if you think he is matt millen go talk to a lions fan. they will assure you that ireland is better. im not saying he is good, but my god there have been worse.

Ross was too stupid to fire his ass when he showed he was spineless piece of garbage by flying cross country to court a HC while "his guy", Sparano, was still here...
