Ronnie and Ricky could really help this team if the play calling allowed it. Ronnie could have 100 yard games if he gets the ball twenty times. There is no running consistancy and every time the running game gets going the fins go to the wild cat and loose momentum. IMO the wildcat should only be used in the second half and after the dolphins are leading by two touchdowns. Lets give R and R the ball and stick with it. The passing game will open up when the running game gets a chance to get going. :rimshot:

Ronnie will break down if he's fed the ball as much as you want. His history has indicated that he's not a guy that can carry the load. I know you Ronnie is god crowd have five games to point to....But I have his career.

I find it a bit humorus when people bang in the Wildcat for hurting Ronni'e production....When most of his production came FROM the Wildcat..lol.

Ricky looked great running the ball today. Ronnie looked like his legs were dipped in cement at times. He did finish with a decent average though.
I agree....Run the ball.
Use play action passes
Operate no huddle out of the shotgun running and passing.

1st down 2 yards
2nd down 2 yards
3rd down incomplete pass

1st down 0 yards
2nd down 3 yards
3rd down incomplete pass

1st down pass 6 yards
2nd down run -1 yards
3rd down pass 3 yards

thats why. when teams respect the pass and take 8 out of the box we can run until than... get used to it

Miami would love to just run the ball, but they cant do it with any consistency. Ronnie or Ricky will bust one for 10 yards and then get stuffed the next 3 runs.

Ronnie is a slow starter. Love the guy but he proved to me today that he is not worth a huge re-up. Don't give me the YPC, he does not hit holes quickly - hence Ricky getting touches aplenty.

However, we cannot pound the rock if the o-line can't open up holes. And they can't open holes with opponents knowing we can't pass long.

Ronnie is not God in anyway but he needs to get more carries to be successful. Ronnie is a good back and so is Ricky. Ronnie's history indicates that if he is given the ball over 15 times he gets better with each carry and has the ability to gain 100 yards. in 2007 he was given the rock with no wildcat and produced. If he gets hurt there is Ricky, Patrick and Lex.

I think our offensive line is going to be fine later, and everybody knows that’s key to pounding the rock. Thomas is basically a rookie after missing all but the first game his true rookie season, Long is going to be a ten year fixture, and the rest are going to be very good very soon. If Fasano was better would we be looking everywhere for tight ends? That’s a big part of run blocking too, and it’s not right yet. Ronnie looks like he slowed a step. He is not hitting the hole like Ricky, and probably never did. But it might not be Ronnie’s fault. Our top receiver wasn’t drafted, our quarterback was let go for nothing, so teams do not fear our passing attack (LOL). They will stack up on us just like Baltimore did in the playoffs. We have match up deficiencies there. Any body that doesn’t get that needs to think about it. We will get better, but it was too much to expect a miracle in one or two drafts. Our team is better than it was two years ago, and better than one year ago. Deeper into this season and next year will be much better still. Then maybe we will pound the rock like a Parcells team.

Ricky started quite well today, both Ronnie and Ricky are downhill runners who get better over the course of the game. If you give Ronnie the ball 10 times and he has 34 yards I bet if you keep going to him and give him 22 carries hes not getting 65 like Turner, hes getting 95+ but we don't operate like that and its ok, I like ricky and ronnie, and we didnt even use cobbs today. We abadoned what we do best and started going tricky and trying to do too much way to early, for example being down 7-0.

Ricky ran really well today and we can point to the past and seen what he has done getting as many carries as you are wanting him to get. But remember what happened last time when we did this he retired on us. He does not want to be the #1 guy any more. He likes the role he has now. And Ronnie can never be the main guy. He never has been, not even in college. He split carries then with Cadilliac Williams.

Every team is going to stack the run and dare us to throw. They don’t fear a dink throwing attack. Ricky and Ronnie are not the problem. We are forced to try to make defenses pass protect, but we can not do that. We try to throw and do the trick plays but it doesn’t force teams out of their basic game plan to beat Miami. Just stop the run. Until we get a quarterback threat, we are stymied. It is basic game planning with what’s on paper. Miami can not throw the ball. That’s the truth about our “running” game.

They'll pound the rock when they actually get a lead....oops..

...or when they aren't playing from behind...oops...

Or when they come off of that *** pocket and spend some money on the offensive line.....oops...

Or when they use the #1 overall pick on a "dominant" run blocking left tackle....oops....

When opposing defenses have to respect our passing game and stop putting 9 in the box on every down.

For the "talented" running back corps that this team has it is a shame to run for the type of yardage that we do on a regular basis.

When are the Fins going to pound the rock?

When Dan Henning actually starts picking plays that make sense.
