Shouldn't his rookie contract be up after next season? I really hope we don't let him go to FA...thoughts?

I want to, but i doubt bill parcells will re-sign ronnie brown to an extension.

I would like to actually see Ronnie perform up to his current contract before we even discuss extension. It is way too early, I think he still has two years and is definately not deserving of a bigger contract at this point.

There has been some debate on what Ronnie actually received as a rookie contract. Some have reported it as a 5 year deal, while others have reported it as a 6 year deal. A 5 year deal has it expiring after the 2009 season.

If Ronnie plays a full season, continues to put up good statistics and be a leader, I think you will see contract extension talk next offseason. He is only 26(27 in December), so he still has a lot of football left. Parcells doesn't like taking running backs early in drafts and probably doesn't like paying them big bucks, but I think he will make an exception for Ronnie. He is a complete player and is just as good receiving the ball as he is running.

way too early to be talking like this, but if he keeps up from where he was last season it's coming. he's our best player and i think we need to give mort a piss test for the comments he made in the preseason.

btw he'll be a patriot at 12:05 am the night he hits free agency, bellicheat loves him and after sunday that man crush just grew

I agree, if he hits free agency, Bellichick will be all over him. However, I don't think Miami will ever let him hit free agency.

The entire team is on an earn-your-check year. I'm confident we'll see Ronnie re-signed this offseason. I see no reason Ronnie wouldn't be offered an extension......

i think he needs to put up 1800 total yards in order to get a cont. est

I have no doubt that he will sign a contract extension, but Parcells won't break the bank on him.
