I thought Merriman was scheduled to become a FA, and if he would to hit the market would you guys want to Fins to sign him. Me personally woould love to tryout this guy. He is young and he is not a troubled player. What do you guys think.

i would love to have him he is a great Pass rusher but he will never hit the market until he is around 33 or 35

Maybe useless for you. Im always thinking of ways the fins can become better. If you dont like that then buddy should not even be reading my thread. Now back to topic.

I thought Merriman was suppose to be a FA this year that is why Im asking.

he will be a FA next year

Big Risk with lots of upside. I say he goes to a big gambler.

I would take him but I would not over pay for him. It is being speculated that the Chargers after this year are going to let him walk. With that being said that is another scary part why would they let possibly there best player walk?? That injury could be a lot worse then anyone things. So i could not see Ireland overpaying for a injury prone/steriod test away from being suspended for a season player.

I agree with Wadeshow. I think they are letting him walk next year. I would like to see him in Miami, but I think he is going to want too much money and isn't there some concern about his knee's?

He's a free agent next year barring something unexpected involving his injury. I know the Chargers' GM A.J. Smith said that they want to extend him before he's got the chance to hit the open market.

If, and that's a big IF, he is fully recovered and somehow makes it to the market - I think Miami would show some interest if he doesn't break the bank (which he's sure to do). Remember, Parcells wanted to draft him in Dallas and Jones/Ireland convinced him to select DeMarcus Ware instead in the 2005 draft...hard to really have gone either.

you know there might be a chance he hits the market next offseason (didnt seem to happy with the team) the LT situation also upset him
I dont think he would mind going to an upcoming team

Won't matter. SD will keep him no matter what the cost of the contract.
