SHAQ!
Wade left the game in the second quarter with an injury and never came back, unfortunately. Everybody is so concerned about O'Neal and his injuries, yet Wade has been the injury prone one this year.
Anyway, some guys stepped up and played great basketball. Shaq had 40 points, 12 boards, 5 blocks, 3 assists, 1 turn over, and went 10-16 from the foul line. Just flat-out great basketball by the Daddy. But this came at no surprise to me. If Wade's not in there, you're going to see more of what Shaq can do. This just proves what he can do, and how unselfish a player he is.
Damon Jones chipped in with 12 boards, 9 assists, and 6 boards. Since D.J. has started, he has averaged over 14 points and 6 assists with 1 turn over, and the Heat are 5-0 with D.J. in the starting line-up. Funny enough, this is his first game in about 5 where he didn't make atleast three triples, but he still nailed too.
Rasual Butler continues to provide one hell of a spark off the bench. He had 16 points on 6/9 shooting with 7 boards and 5 assists. In the last 5 games, he's been in double-figures in scoring 4 times.
As for the final piece...Eddie Jones played very well tonight, and will probably play well on Wed & Friday before hitting his 2-point game slumps. :shakeno:
E.J. had 14 points on 6/13 shooting with 6 boards.
The Heat have won 5-straight games now and are in first place in the Eastern Conference. Your Southeast standings as of right now:
1.Miami, 16-7
2.Washington, 12-7
3.Orlando, 12-7
4.Charlotte, 4-14
5.Atlanta, 4-16
At the moment, Orlando is down at the half to the Suns and have a tough strand of games ahead. I believe they play the Spurs twice, Miami once, and a few other West teams this month.
Miami also has the best conference record in the NBA at 13-2, and is 4-0 in the division.
