When is the next game?

Why is everyone who is replying bringing up QBs?

I actually want to discuss something besides QBs. We had a good QBs discussion a couple of weeks ago in some thread.

Tyler, I was going to make a thread in the NFL forum though with my playoff picks. Probably wait till next week. Im just trying to have an open discussion right now. This place needs a straight up chat. Those would be perfect for times like this.

We used to have a chat. Not sure what happened. We could prolly rig something up on a chat site and get a private room for FH people.

Wanna talk about breakout players? Ill list a few

Swear to God I didnt know lol. I just picked the Falcons because, well, they are good and have Jesus at QB. Went with the Chargers because they were top 5 in offense and defense last year and for some fluky reason didnt make the playoffs. They will rebound and have better luck. I think this is the year Rivers proves himself as more than a great numbers QB and actually wins some playoff games.

Yep. I think the Bolts are going to come roaring back with a monster season. VJ is back and that should make a huge difference for them. They also have several guys coming back that were injured last season. Its Rivers' time I think. I think the Pats could damn well do it again. Im 50/50 between them and the Bolts in the AFC.

I see the Colts finally having a season where they may only win 10 or 9 games. I dont know if Manning is healthy. If he isnt 100% they could actually be very mediocre. I want to pick the Texans in that division, but they get hyped up every year. Every year is supposed to be the one they put it all together, but at this point I have to see it to believe it. That is probably a 1 team playoff entrant division. Likely to be the same teams you see every year in the AFC. Pats, Ravens, Bolts, Steelers, Colts. I think it has something to do with those teams having good QBs.

i think the eagles will choke. but it could be atl or gb(got all thier injured players back makes them alot better) from nfc vs ether pats or ravens. just name dropping

No doubt. Breakout players is a great topic. Get it rolling. If you know a chat place that would kick *** too. Im down for dragging in like 6 or so of us and lets talk some football. Stay away from phins talk for the most part and keep it friendly.

I think the Eagles are overhyped and I can see Vick getting injured. Im just not sold on him taking a team to the bowl anyway. Im leaning towards taking the Giants in that division with the Eagles as a WC.

I dont see anyone stopping Atlanta this year. The saints should be tough again. I like their offense especially with adding a power RB like Ingram. Both of those teams should make the playoffs.

I think GB will not be as hungry. Rodgers is a beast, but Im not sure if they have the desire it takes to get it done this season. I think Detroit is more than just hype and could make a run at one of those WC spots. Rams will run away with the West IMHO.

With the way that Vick plays, it's only a matter of time before he gets injured. Even though he has improved his pocket presence he still relies on his legs too much.

I really like Atlanta. They have a great offense with so many explosive weapons, but their defense seems suspect, especially when they go up against a stellar offense like last year when they played GB.

i guess im in a rare group to say that ATL isn't all that. Their D will hold them back.

You guys ****ing lame out on me already? **** its boring around here tonight. I guess I will just go to be in a min.

Ryan Matthews
Matthew Stafford
Sam Bradford, if he didnt already break out enough last year.
Demarius (sp?) Thomas
Jason Pierre-Paul
Jason Campbell
Jay Cutler
Roy Williams
Mike Williams (TB) will crack 1200 yards

1. New England
2. San Diego
3. Pittsburgh
4. Houston
5. Indianapolis
6. Miami

1. Atlanta
2. Philadelphia
3. Green Bay
4. St. Louis
5. New Orleans
6. Detroit

Ravens, Jets, Chiefs, Bears, Seahawks miss the playoffs this time around.

San Diego vs New England rematch in AFC championship from a few years back, with San Diego winning this time around.
Atlanta vs Philadelphia in the NFC Championship, with ATL getting the edge.

San Diego edges Atlanta, wins it all. Rivers - MVP

Detroit would be amazing if they would just get some damn OL help. Stafford is usually running for his life, but they are a completely different team with him in the game. I understand the desire for playmakers, but you might want to protect your $90 million QB and Jeff Backus just isn't cutting it.

I think Ryan Matthews is going to be a bust. Guy just didn't look good in the games he played last season. He reminds me a lot of Ronnie Brown actually; all the talent in the world, but just never reaches the level he is capable of. I haven't been looking for it specifically, but the few tidbits I've read are that he is underachieving again this camp. He is one of the reasons I think the Chargers makes the playoffs, but don't make it to the big game.

I'd put my money on Matthew Stafford, assuming he stays healthy. With the weapons he has on that offense, there should be no reason he doesn't have an exceptional year.

Cowboys are going to be the sleeper team this year. Jason Garrett is no joke. He should have been the one we were trying to get, not Harbaugh...

Agreed. They have the opposite problem we do. They ignore their line and go heavy on the skill positions. Need to balance out those 2 needs...

Thats interesting. Havent seen anything either way about Matthews but when he came out I thought he would be really good. Im really making it a point to nab Mike Williams in fantasy though. He and Freeman are going to take another leap forward this year.
