The front office should sign marino to a one day contract to get him a ring!

dont think they do one day contracts in NFL...but I could be wrong...as well as, do you think Marino would want that?? And why would they need him to sign a contract....couldnt they just give him a ring...what would be the difference?

that would be a bad idea..you can sign somebody to a one-day contract but this would make absolutely no sense because then you must release someone because that would happen in the season and you must have under 53 players on your roster..
and they could just give him the ring as a kind of honor..the giants did it also with the Lt. who has lost his legs in iraq but has inspired the team..

but i am not sure if marino really wants that..to get a ring without being involved in any of the teams decisions..maybe they would let him speak to the team before the superbowl but definitley they will not sign him to a 1-day deal.."and today dan marino, the 46 year old quaterback out of pittsburgh is miami's emergency QB in the superbowl..maybe they will let him take the last snap of the game.." :D

I don't think Marino would take an honorary ring. What kind of accomplishment is that? It's a nice gesture, but winning the Super Bowl is a personal accomplishment. This personal accomplishment by all 53 members on the roster adds up to the accomplishment of the team that year.

Marino is slimming down on NutraSystem, not going deep.

Why would he want it? If he just wanted a ring he could probably find one on Ebay or just have a copy made. What he wants is the personal accomplishment. Signing him to a one day contract wouldn't get him that.

And actually they wouldn't need to sign him at all. The team can give rings to whomever they want. They could give Dan a ring as a gift. It would be nice gesture but I doubt Dan would look at it as a SB ring.

Yeah, I'm not sure Marino would want that. He's the kinda guy that doesn't want something he didn't earn. At least that's the impression I get from him. If however Marino does return in some capacity coaching or FO and helps this team win a SB, I'm sure he'd be happy, but it would be that same as winning a a player.
