When Philbin lost me.

Philbin started to lose me with his clock killing at the end of the first half against the Saints, rather than trying for a score to get us within a score against an historically good offense. That was the first time in a year that Philbin's decisions didn't seem to make sense given the game situation, and since then he hasn't been able to translate our advantages on the field into the right decisions at the right time to win a football game.

Belichick did the exact same thing today..

Because Wanny, Saban, Camoron, and Meatball are racking up the Lombardi Trophies!

I believe if Saban would have stayed, he would have eventually had the Dolphins winning. He is a really good coach. If Pete Caroll can win after the mess he made in his first attempt I know Saban can.

me,It was building for but I lost it when he did not challenge the third down throw to Matthews that could have sustained the drive.

All of my friends were screaming for him to throw the challenge flag. And I was with Cowboys, Packers and Bengals fans. It was clear to everyone on the planet but the man with the flag. That play was our real chance to change the course of the game. I knew he had just thrown in the white flag when he didn't throw the red one.

Point was none of them are winning Superbowls

Philbin is totally blowing it this season!

Did anyone else catch him clapping after RT was picked off?!

Philbin always looks like a lost seagull.

I think a lot have forgotten the coaches got a lot of the credit for the first 3 wins, both Sherman and Coyle were being lauded for great adjustments. New Orleans is whatever, we ran into a great offense playing great. The Ravens game the refs stole from us. Buffalo game was god awful and that loss is on the coaches. And today the refs probably stole a half win from us. And this protection fiasco caused by an incompetent GM likely cost us at least half a game. For me I just can't take this 3-4 record at face value, at the very least its not 100% on Philbin.

Having said that, there are most certainly some things that are bugging me about Philbin and staff (not the least of which being quick on the trigger finger with locker room "cancers") but I'm still in wait and see mode, get us to 9 wins and he should be brought back imo.

When you let one weak spot on your roster derail your entire season, that's on coaching. Nobody who watched the last two games could tell me that this roster wasn't capable of beating the other team's roster. The talent and ability was there, but the difference was the mistakes that were easily avoidable as well as not being able to bring the right strengths to bear at the right time. Even with a mediocre, clearly rebuilding offense last year, we saw this team lose games because of coaching that the talent on the field was good enough to win (Arizona and NYJ are the real culprits).

Which is fine when you are facing the Dolphins. We're not exactly the Saints on offense and you have to take into account that you are going to need every chance you get to score points against them.

People are upset by him clapping when we threw a pick. The sign for me wasn't a physical gesture that he made, it was when his team blew leads two weeks in a row.

Wow last year many of us praised him how great he will be, shows a lot of great coach traits, etc. I agree with you all he needs to stop clapping like that. He needs to show more emotion to his players and he needs to correct his OC. Show him you're the Coach he works for you. I know he is older, has more experience but you can't let Sherman lose unsupervised. Challenge his calls, make adjustments. I also hope Ross will have a serious talk with Philbin behind closed doors. Light a fire under his ass to make him light a fire under his coaches asses.

The clapping thing is being taken out of context, he's trying to pump up his defense to respond (although it is pretty funny they show him clapping while the ref is announcing its a turnover, might even make "come on man").

Yeah, but it seemed so half-hearted and lame.

I just don't know what you expect them to say? Of course they say we can fix this. Also when were we milking clock?

He lost me when he's never done jack **** in his career and was somehow given control of a professional football team.

I have came to the belief that Ireland wanted a rookie head coach like Philbin or Mccoy because he wanted to have unchecked power. He didn't want anyone with a winning resume second guessing his decisions.
It is all about Ireland's own job security. Hire a meek man to follow instructions and tow the line. It had nothing to do with finding the right philosophy or fit for the franchise. He has Ross hypnotized.
We will never have a winning season with Ireland calling the shots.

EXACT same **** that Sparano and Co said every single week

If I was Ross, i'd think long and hard about going the COMPLETE other direction this offseason. Enough tough guy disciplined high character non sense. Get bad ass dudes who DID IT in college make plays and, as long as they are good teammates, get them on this team with a coach that understands he is to put the players in a position to win and MANAGE ATTITUDES AND EGOS. It drives me BEYOND angry that Philbin came to Miami and immediately banished Brandon Marshall and Vontae Davis, ostensibly our 2 best players at the time. Why? How much money does he get paid to coach? MANAGE GROWN MEN FOR THE LOVE OF GOD.

I'm all for the next head coach being *gasp* a Rex Ryan or Pete Carroll type that takes GREAT football players and encourages them to play with attitude and moxy. I don't care that Nolan Carroll is a super awesome person and student of the game, HE GETS EXPOSED BC HE IS NOT GOOD AT FOOTBALL.

On one of the Thursdays off Philbin took me to lunch at P.H. Chang's after lunch I felt ill and used the restroom, when I emerged he was gone....
