I honestly don't remember.....

I see other teams around the league do this routinely on 2nd or 3rd and 1. The conversion rate is high....we have a line that is good at run blocking..we have a QB with the size and athletic ability...The defense almost never stops it because you literally have the entire team able to block for 1 yd of space and the QB as the runner coming in behind them....

Why on earth are we running exotic trick plays or Kalen Ballage wildcat on crucial 3rd and 1s??? I can see not doing it every time to keep the defense honest but NEVER using a QB sneak a single time throughout the whole season??

This might sound simplified in a way but to me this is one if my biggest issues with Gase....I honestly think it has to be something like him thinking hes too smart to have to settle for a boring basic QB sneak to get that 1 crucial yd. He'd rather prove to everyone how smart he is by designing some ridiculous 3rd down call....the problem is we've lost games because of this and his calls haven't been working at all.

Thoughts from anyone else on the actual reason why we NEVER sneak it for the conversion? Even when we had 6'8 Lobster at QB lol?

In answer to the first question; I think I remember seeing a QB sneak during the Philbin era, but I'm not certain.
Why Gase NEVER uses it???????????? Who knows?

Some QBs are a lot better at it than others. They need the ability to read that the A gaps are clogged a split second after the snap so they can do that little tuck and dive to the side thing Brees, Brady and others have mastered. Considering how bad the middle of our line is, this would be pretty important.

It's possible we don't execute it at practice so we don't call it. I would like to have at least seen it attempted once or twice in a game though to find out ourselves.

QB sneak?

At this point, I would settle for a handoff between the tackles.

You know, something Gore excells at.

But why would we want to do something that has proven effective for a half century, when we can throw a WR screen behind the LOS.

You need to have a quarterback with the situational awareness to be able to call that for himself and execute it.

Haven’t had that for the last 7 years

We probably don't run QB sneaks cause every coach we've had knows this crappy O-line can't get a push.

When was the last time we ran the ball effectively to kill clock in a game?

With our O-Line, it would be a QB Sneak straight to the hospital

I remember a couple of times a year or two ago. Spread O. 3rd and 1. DTs over each OG. I 'knew' Cutler/Tannehill would sneak. N-n-n-o-p-e. I have no idea why. Probably the same reason Gase doesn't run RPO or rollouts

Because Gase is too smart to run a sneak.
