Since he's a lefty, his blind side is protected by the RT. Will they switch Jake up.... or will it be Vernon? Any thoughts?

Reading what he did today in Mini Camp, some here need to temper expectations. Thinking he will come in and be a polished qb is reaching.

I don't know much about how it works but I think vernon would stay on the right side just cause he's used to it. how about pat white learns to throw right handed lol. just messin.

They will leave it the same only because the playbook is so large, most players only learn what their position will need to do and maybe an emergency position.

Also, when he will be in most likely will be in the Wild Cat formation in which Jake Long is already on the right side as an extra tackle.

Another thing I was thinking, if we play White, it might not necessarily need to be at QB of the Wildcat since he is athletic enough to play any skill position in that scheme.

Why should we switch up anything?

Vernon was a helluva nice LT when he played there. He's proven he can handle anything a defense throws at him.

My thoughts were more along the line.... that this plays into Jake Long even better. Jake is one great run blocking LT. If the D moves the pass rushing DE to Vernon, Jake gets to kick some teeth in.

I would tend to believe the change would have more impact on LG vs RG. As Smiley is the better pass protecting G, I would think there would be a higher probability of him switching than Jake.

I might also add, given Ronnie Brown is a South Paw, running to his left may actually be a more instinctive role for him. I could see where he might benefit greatly in such a switch.

No, they will not switch Jake. White will never be a full-time starting QB in the National Football League. The offensive line stays as is.

Sounds like Stafford had a semi good day, but had somes plays like White also, I also remember White at the senior bowl started the week slow too, and by the end of the week he was the MVP of the senior bowl...so don't read too much into day one, when they spend most of their time thinking about every play..

I am sure Vernon will be there at RT and we won't change things up. We only used the Wildcat about 5-10 times a game. But I do think if Pat is able to have success throwing the ball then there is a decent shot he could advance ahead of Henne as the #2 QB, and White would be used a lot like Michael Vick was in Atlanta. I think White was/is a more accurate thrower than Vick ever was. Time will tell how White is utilized.

OF COURSE Long will switch to the right side when & if White comes in this year to run the wildcat.
He's also started blowing his right nostril first.:foundout:

I dont care if I sound like a fanboy, but how awesome would it be if Pat White turned out to be like another southpaw that could run and was pretty accurate, that southpaw ladies and gentlemen was Steve Young.
