Can Daunte be what he once was with the talent that we currently have at wide reciever? Culpepper could have been MVP 2 years ago if it was'nt for Peyton Mannings record breaking( it hurts, on a shuvel pass) season. Culpepper needs to continue to strenghthen his legs before anything, it is to early to start judging him when he is not 100%. It is unfair to go judging him so early after he has set forth so much effort is his rehab. In due time Culpepper will lead the Dolphins to a place they have not visited in a long time.

Daunte will be fine, give him time. He has the tools (aka WR's, TE's), just needs an OL that can keep him on his feet.

I honestly believe the 2nd half of the season we are gonna have the offense we dreamed about when this season started . . . . question is will it be too late to save the season by then? I'm with Nick, its a risk to leave Pep in there . . . Joey probably could do a tad bit better job in there, but he's taking the chance to weather the OLine/CPep problems for the better of the team later this season and on into next year. I respect Nick for this decision, because if it fails, he will take it on the chin at the end of the season.

AMEN to that!!!!!! They need to stop messing with the O-Line every freaken year. Yeah, I know what your about to say and yes I do understand that there will be injurys along the way, but damn it we only gave up 12 sacks last year and already they have giving up 15. If Houston sacks C-Pep 2 or more times on sunday, you have to blame the o-line for that.

I was thinking this thread could have been titled "Will 8 ever be great for the Dolphins?" At this point, he reminds me a lot of Kurt Warner really. Put up "hall of fame" numbers when the Rams had all the pieces in place. But not able to carry a team. But it remains to be seen if 8 is not surrounded by a great O-line, WRs, running game, has mobility and a system that allows him to freelance a little will he be any good.

The more I think about it the more this makes sence. Everybody knows I have been behind eight the whole way, but I say either the week before or the week after the bye, we should start Harrington. It will give him time to get healthy and we just might see the mobile Cullepper we all remember.

Unfortunately we may be out of the playoff hunt if the team plays as they have the last 2 games.
The big difference between DC and JH was physical attributes (stronger arm and better mobility). DC right now is not as mobile as JH.
From a mental aspect I think DC is a little slow with his reads and I think JH has the edge.
If DC is not close to 100% physically, then JH gives the team a better chance to win.

At least 6-7 of those sacks were DC's fault. He holds the ball way too long. I have a hard time believing our WR corp has that much trouble getting open. If that is the problem then this offense is in real trouble and needs a complete overahaul.
Right now DC is reminding me a lot of Rob Johnson.

From what I've seen, the O-line is allowing way too much penatration...not giving DC the time to read his receivers...not that they're not open...he's too busy trying to escape rusing defenders. maybe 3-4 sacks....but definitely not 6-7 were DC's fault.

I think by mid season he will be the old DC. I hope so.

we may never see culpepper moblility as we remember it, and it certainly wont be there until next season at the earliest. hes got to adjust to his noew knee and less reckless style of play. he will be fine
