We already met with Arrington last week some time.

does anyone have a clue how much we will be willing to spend on Arrington?

They probably wont meet again...but I am sure if Nick is interested he is talking to him on the phone regularly ( he did that w/ culpepper and when he was recruiting Mueller )...

Arrignton is holding out for big bucks...Saban wants to minimize this value..

That is what is taking so long...

look Arrington wants to sign before the FA $$$ dry up...But he wants to get atleast what Peterson got..

Nick wants Arrington because he and JT will be a nasty blitzing combo...

Saban is trying to minimize the guaranteed money and still get him....

I haven't seen anything in print, but ESPN mentioned New England along with the giants and Miami.

the only difference is that Culpepper that costs us 3 million against the cap this year, with only a 6 million guarantee. Arrington just passed up around 10 million from the skins, so you can expect that he wants to make atleast that and proabably more in his first year. I don't see it happening, and I think we will find a yound solid OLB in the draft they will work within the Scheme and not freelance like Arrington is known to do.

Not exactly but with Peterson's deal it will be somewhere around $49 - 55 mill overall... to get him to sign with a team, I believe.

how do i post a thread???

Probably the number one question in the Zoo FAQ, followed closely by "How do I not use the search feature?"

Arrington threads:hump:

Arrington isnt going to get close to what Peterson got.

That is what you get for being labeled a trouble maker and you walk to the sound of your own drum. Nobody is going to overpay for you in todays market. This isnt baseball.

Look at TO. He should be the higest payed player in the league right now (he is the best player) but that will never happen. Instead he has a pretty decent incentive laden package that could backfire on him.

Arrington didnt "pass up" 10 million from the Skins. The Skins were going to cut him and he elected to return 4 million to them so they would release him at the start of FA instead of the end..

He is gonna want as much money as he can get...

I would have to look into it, but I belive he would have still gotten 10 million from the Skins even if they cut him.

You are probably right to an extent...

He definitely had some guaranteed money coming to him....

My point was that, they cut him, he didn't have a choice...

It was in his financial interests to get cut early...
