I actually think its going to hinge on one of the other 3 of the unsigned top 5 draftees...Miami seems to be taking a semi-hardline approach so until the have some numbers right below Ronnie I dont think he signs.
 
A good question, hopefully soon. My understanding is a dispute of guaranteed money. Ronnie (and his agent) want 22 million, I think, and the Dolphins are offering 19 million. I could be wrong on the figures.
 
waste of a pick. he'll end up more than what Edge or Alexander would have cost us.
 
It makes sense for both sides to get a deal done sooner rather than later. With the starting RB position open for weeks 1-4, it would be good to have Ronnie in for the 2nd to last preseason game when starters see their most extensive playing time. I can see a compromise deal getting done. I don't think the real issue is the difference between the 19-22. It's that Ronnie, and more specifically his agent will look really bad if #3 gets more $$$ guaranteed. Still, I hope the Dolphins hold the line to some degree. I read some where that Larry Fitzgerald got 20 mil guaranteed from the #3 spot (i think) last year. Sorry, I don't have the link. If that is indeed true, than we need to go 20+ million for Ronnie. Worth it or not, we picked him #2 so lets just get it done. Hopefully the league addresses rookie salaries in the next CBA.
 
I sure hope once he finally signs he shows us something special. So far I don't care for the guy.

Would a deal be signed sooner had Ricky Williams not come back?
 
His agentwill lose his job if he's not in practice on Monday..... Ronnie's job is in jepordy if he's not in practice on Mon. if any of the RB's stand out tonight he could've hurt himself by not being in this game...... I think you'll see something happen this weekend after the game.... if none of the RB's show something special.... he's got some room to play with.....

Ofcourse. That fact that ricky came back actually hurts ronnie. If ricky would have never returned the phins would have already dished out the money.
 
how about, "when the fins finally break down and pay him what hes supposed to get at the #2 spot".
