I assume by the end of next week weekend, and I assume the GM will be hired before the OC.

Need to have the GM in place so they can go to Senior Bowl week.

Do you have an idea of how our scouting department will be affected by new GM? Do the scouts usually stay on or does the GM bring in his own team?

I hope to god we get new scouts... seems like the same guys since the Brees Incident
 
Before the Senior Bowl, would be my guess. But I would rather get the right/best OC and GM so if it takes longer I'm good with that.

Someone on Joe Roses show, can't recall who it was, said some of the scouting department people have been there a long time. (Some back to Shula). He also mentioned a few names that he thought were excellent. Makes you wonder because from the outside your first thought is the scouts have to be part of the problem, but we may not have all the facts.
 
curious if any more interviews with candidates on teams that were eliminated this weekend
 
As many pointed our GM search should end before Senior Bowl.
The thing about OC is a little different but related. Under current team structure our new GM would require the lead from HC, DC and OC.
That implies that unless Philbin is going to take full control of the offense then a new OC should by hired within the next few days.

While I think the GM has a say into which players the scouts pay more attention to, I believe the scouts do a majority of the talent evaluation on a broader scale over the course of many games versus just worrying about the senior bowl only. While I think it's a valuable tool in the big board of evaluation, I would hope we are not using that single game as a big part of our talent evaluation. So with that said, I don't think it's life or death to have a GM hired before the senior bowl game. It would be nice if it does, but I wouldn't rush into a decision just for that reason only.
