Watching the Dolphin game this weekend I noticed that Dolphin statium had a lot of empty seats. I now we have been bad for a long time but I would give anything to be able to go to the games but I live so far away. Why is this so?

Go Fins.............

IT has almost always been like that, but not this bad. Even when Dan played, I hardly saw it sold out. I live in ATL and still manage to make it down once or twice a year, when I lived in Miami, I would go to games even if a Hurricane was passing right on top of the stadium. I hate South Florida fans. You could see in the Hurricanes game too, it was sooo empty.

Im sure it will get better after beating SD. There is a bit more hype around now.

Several issues, primarily I would say many chose to watch it on TV with the rain forecast and the obvious heavy rain that did fall at times, its also still very very hot in South Florida in the early part of the season.

They obviously sold enough tickets to lift the blackout in south florida, and that caused many to watch it out of the weather.

I also think its a symptom of losing for a few seasons so badly, like it or not, there is more to do in South Florida than watch a bad team....this is not Green Bay.

Its not so unusual I think, in Tampa they had tons of empty seats until they started winning....its really no different there.

with the prices of beer and food, the heat at the stadium, and pretty much everyone owning an HD tv now a days, people would rather stay at home. Not to mention the cost of the ticket and parking. Maybe it's just me..... but I still make it down there for 3-4 games a season.

Our stadium seats about 75,000 fans and we usually have about 65,000 people show up. So there is always 10,000 empty seats. I guess we should've had a stadium that held only 65,000 so we'd have a full stadium all the time!!!!

I noticed alot of empty seats as well, but this was right after halftime....I figured everyone was still at the concession stands...but it looked really empty

This is so true. We have a very large seating capacity. In some ways its good, but in others its bad.

Its nice to fit that many fans, but unless they show up, the seats are either empty or will go to fans of the opposing team.

We also have fans that may have season tickets (or companies like stub-hub buying season tickets to sell online) and either not planning to attend, or not able to scalp them.

A smaller stadium would sell out more often, be closer to the field and make crowd noise more of a factor, while keeping the number of fans of opposing teams lower.

But, we are stuck with the hand we are dealt. Hopefully if we can string some more wins together we can get more aqua shirts in those seats. :)

Thats a good point, Miami has been averaging 65,461 this season so far. Heres a link to the entire NFL attendance averages. Some interesting reading.

Where Are Our Fans?....

All of the truly devoted fans that I know are usually at the games, and supporting the Phinz in full force....

As for the others, they're usually sitting on a couch somewhere watching the game on TV. They're either too lazy to get up / get out to the game, or just too cheap to buy a ticket....

IN TUNA WE TRUST....

No doubt all the losing of the past seasons has fans gun-shy about spending top dollar prices for a terrible performance. One thing for sure is that winning will sell tickets. I live 600 miles north of Miami and looked into flight/hotel/tickets to the SD game. I think it would have been a $600 weekend before I got back home. I was looking and then Miami got pawned by Warner in AZ. I thought it over and concluded $600 for 4 hours and another possible beatdown was not worth it. If they had beaten AZ...I would have probably been there.

So I guess when we dominated the Pats a week later, they still hadn't shown enough improvement for you to change your mind...

Sure, you would have been there alright....:foundout: :bs:

IN TUNA WE TRUST....

Remember a couple years back...We jumped all over the Pats only to fold like school girls the next week and lose the rest of the season. If you put a good product on the field...they will come.

Tell you what...Paypal me $300 being you sound as if you are loaded and I will be glad to chip in the other $300 and take a chance.

See you in Miami Baby
