After grimes,Albert,Mitchell and Starks signed... Curious to know approx I get full details to cap hit are unknown yet

Found this link that accounts for grimes, Albert and Patterson, but is missing numbers for delmas, Starks, and Mitchell

http://www.spotrac.com/nfl/miami-dolphins/cap-hit/

Says we have 35 million left. (minus the three numbers from players above)

My guess is they account for almost ten million (3.5 for delmas, w signing bonus Starks maybe 4 and Mitchell maybe 2 mil)

6 million for draft picks also, so I'm thinking we have about 19 million to play with?!?

So we have spent what? $12 mill on those three? $23 left. Say, we cut Moore, that's $28 left. We still have plenty of room for moves.

We won't go into the season right up against the cap. That's not how the Fins front office operates. Expect them to be $3-6 million under the cap. Allows them to sign guys during the season if necessary. We started with about $41 million and spent about $19 million, so we have about $22 million, BUT about $10 million will be saved for either rookies or to have working $ going into the season. Seems like there is about $12 million left to spend unless they cut somebody like Moore. I think we saved a little under a million per year by trading Martin too, but not 100% on that.

I get you were just using it as an example, but I just want to be on record saying that cutting Moore is a horrible idea.

That's what I figured they do like a bit to rollover, I just don't see how they don't release Moore and free up the money. We should really sign at least 2 more O linemen and a corner. I guess we have plenty for that maybe just hoping for a surprise signing in there somewhere

That is typically how all team operate.

I agree. I think we'd be best served by restructuring and extending with Moore for a lower cap hit.

Not all of them. Some sign themselves into cap hell, without enough space to do anything during the season if the need to do so arises. I'm glad we don't. I wasn't taking a shot at our FO.

Why what is he actually offering us ? Is he a great mentor for Tanny ? Someone we can rely on to step in if Tanny goes down ? Last year's evidence suggested he was neither of those. So what does he offer ? This is a deep QB class this year, much prefer we take a QB late in the draft to groom, than waste all this cap space on moore tbh.

cut matt moore...if tannehill gets hurt we aren't going anywhere anyways...and as much contact as he played thru last year and didnt miss time moore will do nothing but hold a clip board...not to mention moore sucks

but i bet philbin likes that security blanket just in case...no matter how no where it will take us

I think we have enough to probably get 2 more guys and then save the rest of the money for rookies and in season moves. I'm hoping for at least 1 more olineman tho I'd prefer 2. I doubt we do something big at corner or RB now. We could get 3 more players but no big names unless Moore is cut.

Ozzy rules!!

I think we're getting to a point where Matt Moore is more of a cap hit than he is an asset.

We need about 4 more FA players so I see Moore turning into a Cap casualty. We need to draft a QB in third or 4th round.
