Not that it matters so much, but we've seen that sportsline had us dropping 14 slots to #26, http://www.cbssports.com/nfl/powerrankings.

Now I don't know about the rest of you but we had a good off season we improved on our worst positions, and I don't think the other teams improved enough to fly by us. this is much more how I'm seeing it. (bare in mind that I'm not taking strength of schedule or ending record in account, simply the order of teams in ability.)

What do you guys think?

1.steelers- young, talented, and a well oiled machine

2.cardinals- gotta give them credit for getting to the big game, and they
almost won, defense is better than most think. Who can stop their "O."

3.patsies- with brady back, and a good off season, gotta figure that they're closer to the 16-0 team and not the 11-5 team.

4.baltimore- with a defense like theirs and an ever improving offense, look
out.

5.giants- they can get after the Qb, and Nicks can be the endzone threat
they lost in Burress

6.Eagles- The new O-line is a huge upgrade, they got some more talent at
wr, this will make Mcnabb/westbrook better, and they've still got a "D."

7.Chargers- To much talent, especially with Merriman back, and adding
English, Bounce back year.

8.Colts- They've been on the decline, but no slow start for peyton this
year, and you can never count this manning out

9.Titans- They were the best in the league for awhile, losing Haynesworth
can't be good, but I think their offense will be better.

10.Panthers- If delhomme is on his game, they're are tough to beat.

11.Cowboys- If they pull it together they'll be much higher, that's a big
challenge though, Their FO worries me too.

12.Vikings- Awesome team, Id like to put them higher, but I dont know about jackson or sage.

13.Dolphins- We've gotten better, but until we see what the new look wild
cat will do, and how the new DB's pan out, plus we gotta get the deep
ball rolling, and get after the Q. Probably top 3 front offices in the
league.

14.Falcons- Gonzales should make up the difference on 2nd year blues and
defenses scheming for the new QB.

15.Saints- They can put up #'s on anyone, but they're just too inconsistant, but a better defense this year could make them very tough.

16.Packers- Roger's second year, and the move to 3-4 should make better use of their defensive talent.

17.Jaguars- They will be better this year than last year. Two good pick-ups
for the line this year, and better receivers.

18.Texans- Tough team, if shaub stays upright. explosive team, good amount of talent.

19.Broncos- With cutler they would've been much higher. Don't know what they expect from Orton, but he's a pennington style player, from what I've
seen he's solid. Somebody has to help the defense, they signed 80,000
players.

20.Bengals- Palmer being healthy will make a big difference, and we'll find
out if OCHO CINCO can still be the top dog. Their offense makes this team
go.

21.Redskins- I'm not sure that Haynesworth is well worth, 100mil., but He'll
help I'm sure. Maybe portis stays healthy, maybe campbell plays better,
maybe, maybe, maybe.

22.Bears- Cutler brings them up, but they've got holes on the O-line, and
nobody but cutler and lb core can scare ya.

23.seahawks- If they can stay healthy, they'll do better, duh. seems like a
no brainer, but they cant seem to do it.

24.Jets- If Sanchez can do it, it could prove for a long year for us, but
until I see that, they're stuck here.

25. Buccaneers- too old, no QB, I like Raheem, but not enough to make them any higher.

26. Bills- I dont know if they have enough talent for T.O. to take apart, but
I can't wait until he tries.

27. Cheifs- without Gonzales their "O" took a big hit, who knows how Cassel
and and Haley will do?

28. Rams- still got Bulger, still got Jackson, but after that? who knows?

29. Browns- I didn't like mangingi's choices in Jets country, other than the

fact that he did them in Jets country. But they can't be better for
having him.

30. 49ers- I like singeltary as a person, not as a coach, I hope he makes me eat my words, whose gonna throw it to crabtree?

31. Lions- 0-16 and I still like them over the Raiders, man the raiders are
terrible. New QB, Good you RB, there are far worse receiving corpes, I
think they might win a few.

32. Raiders- I don't Like Al davis as an owner, and the FO revolves around
him, no offense to Heyward-bey, but with that thought process. man the
raiders are terrible...

Id move the bears and saints cause they are better than what u have them and cowboys and titans and balitmore is over rated

the fins are in the middle of the pack, but the nice thing about our situation is that we've just begun, and we have young players, so it might not take long before we go on top... 2010 or 2011, if everything goes well, we should see our fins in a deep playoff run

we are probably around 13 and 18.
also you said Cutler healthy when u ment Palmer not trying to be a Arse just sayin

Rankings this early are meaningless. Everyone is assuming that Brady steps right in from day one and doesn't skip a beat, that is a big assumption. He'd be the first one. Injuries play a huge part, and they are impossible to predict. I could see the Fins taking a step or 2 back this year, 10-6 or 9-7, contending for the AFC East title and / or a wildcard spot. Too many factors, way to early.

I have the Dolphins going 12-4 and going all the way to the Super Bowl.

Preseason rank 3rd behind Pittsburgh and Philidelphia.

i think this is pretty good. i enjoyed reading the post good work

I think you almost have to put Miami down around 18 or 29 the dolpphins had a soft schedule and they didnt beat the bad teams more then points unless i got the wrong stats.

Yeah...we spent most of last season as an 11-5 team at about 26...

I bet all those teams we beat were glad they got to play a "low ranked" team like us...

well our record was 1-15 in 2007, then 11-5 in 2008.. Thats a 10 game increase.. So if we stay with the trend.. (hold up let me calculate real quick)...

Ok... we are going to win 21 games next year.. that should put us in the top 5 i think?

No but for real on the real real.. Do not look at player match ups and who signed who and what not.. Winning is more than just getting players and who you play. The FO came in and somehow turned us into division champs from the absolute worst team in the league.. Why doesnt anyone respect this significant progess, and why cant we assume we will continue to progress?

I honestly think we have a top 10 team in the leauge, and call me bias (cuz i am) but I really do not understand how we keep getting all the hate from skeptics around the leauge

Where most draftniks gave us a "C" for our 2009 draft it looks to me like our FO has worked hard to strengthen the roster of the 2008 AFC East champs. Time will tell if they were successful or not. I am cautiously hopeful for the upcoming season. The rise from 1-15 to 11-5 was as much addition by subtraction (Cameron and Spielman) as anything else. I don't think the Miami Dolphin players were that much better in 2007 than 2008 (except at QB), but the coaching was light years different. I think that if more list writers really saw this team as a 6-10 team in 2007 (could have been without Cameron, lost many close games) moving up to 11-5 in 2008 (maybe inflated a game or two by the 1-15 schedule) there would be more trust in the progress being made by the Dolphins.

many super bowl teams have played like crap the next year. pre-season power rankings are nearly as big a crapshoot as rookie boom or busts.
