Hall Of Famer
Okay what teams that draft ahead of us will possibly be looking QB.
Lets say Houston has second pick If they don't want to commit to Carr and will definately get a new coach who might have his own ideas then they are a possibility to draft Leinhart if they do not have first pick. 2-12
New York Jets- Very possible considering Pennington has been quite injury prone. If Leinhart is available to them in trade I would rule them out of Rivers because they will have a decent pick to trade to get Leinhart or maybe they get him at thier pick. 3-11
Tennesee- Alot of contract stuff going on and they probably will look at future, no one seems to think Volek is all that but maybe the team does. Volek is not as good as a stud QB 4-10
New Orleans- Mcpherson is a solid prospect but if a top guy is there I'm sure they are going with a name especially since Brooks seems on his way out.3-11
Detroit-If they hate Harrington so much Im sure they need to look at a Qb.
4-10
Arizona- No faith has been shown in Mcnown so another contender 4-10
St louis- 5-9 Bulger injured and having to start Gus Frerotte's weak armed cousin Jamie Martin then 6th round pick Fitzpatrick. If a top guy is there could be tempting.
Baltimore- 5-9 If they jettison Bollar then guess what they need a young Qb
Cleveland- I doubt they take a QB high but Leinhart is better than Frye so depending how dominoes fell. 5-9
Other teams with chance to fall below us
Dallas 8-6 Not hearing much about Drew but I think they wait
Kansas City-Nothing below Trent Green who is far from young
Minnesota-If they get rid of Culpepper someone will be drafted
So alot of possibilities for the top Qb's
Plus in early rounds these teams might draft a backup
Philly,Seattle,IndyTampa bay, Carolina, denver and Jacksonville if they purge one of thier Qbs which I think they will.
Not like there are not alot of possible suiters. Okay here are the top Qb';s
Leinhart- Will not go to SF that is the only sure thing, but many teams will look at best Qb prospect.
All profiles from Warroom not my analsis
Matt LeinhartProductive winner who is as prepared for the NFL as any quarterback could be. Arm strength is good but not special. Is very accurate as a touch passer. Knows where to go with the ball. Mobility is average. Poise, leadership and football intelligence are outstanding, almost in the class of Peyton Manning's. (So really not a Lineman QB for one )
all other unless declaring should go lower than our pick with possibly Cutler moving up IMO Plus Croyle may move a ways but not past us.
Reggie McnealBottom line: McNeal is an incredible athlete and a big-time running threat on every snap. Though he relies on his athleticism too much and too early in plays, his productivity as a passer has improved in senior season. With continued improvement as a passer, McNeal could become a first-round pick.
Brody croyle Bottom line: When Croyle is healthy, he is a premier college quarterback. He fought shoulder problems in '03 to become the first Alabama sophomore to pass for more than 2,000 in a season. After a great start in '04, he tore his ACL in the fourth game. If he stays healthy, Croyle will put up big numbers and greatly improve his draft stock
Jay Cutler Productive player with a cannon arm and top athleticism. Has great potential and is a good leader. Is a bit of a gambler who has some Brett Favre in him. Needs technique work.
Charlie Whitehurst but has been way too inconsistent and throws way too many interceptions. He has all the physical tools to be a good NFL pocket passer, but he must make better decisions to play in the NFL. (not a so called lineman Qb)
Paul Pinager
Bottom line: Pinegar has the size and intangibles NFL scouts love, but he must improve his arm strength and mechanics to play in the NFL.(No from lineman)
okay now the juniors
Omar Jacobs Made a name for himself last year, throwing for more than 4,000 yards. Has all the skills but needs more experience. (Fits the bill I guess)
Chris Leak Is an excellent athlete with a strong arm. Needs to improve and refine his skills and consistency.(Fits bill I guess)
Vince Young Is big, strong and mobile, with a great arm. Had some big-time performances last season that helped his stock.
I have seen many mocks with Vince top 10 and very high in some so if he declares I doubt we get him.
There is also Drew Olson, Hackney from UAB and Brady Quinn who I doubt will come out.
Alot of these guys including Linehart are not so called perfect for this scheme so would we pass on Linhart(I doubt it)
Tell me who you think will draft the players and what round possibly in your opinion.
