LB Channing Crowder: He obviously will be a productive, long-term starter. But a Pro Bowl player? We found different views. An NFC personnel director could see it happening: ''We really like him -- a big, physical tough guy'' with a great work ethic. CBS' Phil Simms has said, ``I'm not sure he's not close to being [great] already.''
But another personnel man said Crowder becoming a Pro Bowler ``is a stretch. He's a first- and second-down run player.''
Another said, ''Physically he has the ability to be a Pro Bowler, but he doesn't have great instincts, and he's had injuries.'' And CBS' Steve Tasker said Crowder is ''going to have to force fumbles and make interceptions'' to reach that level.
Crowder had two forced fumbles and two recoveries but no sacks (largely because he said he rushed only one-fifth of the time on pass plays) and no interceptions
