It's great to see Chad Henne taking off and running on occasions (59 yards). Where has this skill been hiding over the past few years? I thought he had zero running skills. I can't recall him taking off in college either.

I don't know but it looks good on him. It really does.

He was never really a "slug", even as a prospect... he ran a very respectable 40 time. I think the difference is that it's obviously something he's worked on in the offseason, but moreso it's the decisiveness that makes him look faster. He's not screwin' around when he decides to tuck it and run... when he makes the decision to break the line of scrimmage with the ball, he's 100% committed to his decision.

He's finally learning to just make a decision and live with it.... rather than second guessing himself about every little thing.

Or getting fossilized for the duration of the week if it turned out to be a bad one

He's always had it he's just using it properly now, not just running ahead for 1-2 yards when he's about to get sacked but actually finding the right opportunities to take off. His decision making thus far has vastly improved and if he keeps it up I hope we sign him long term.

For what it's worth, Henne actually ran a better 3-cone than Terrell Pryor...

Henne - 7.17
Pryor - 7.20

The fact that Henne WILL take off with the ball puts defenses on alert. This will only help our offense on the back end. So after game one we have established that Henne will run on you, so you better keep someone in to watch him. This is freakin awesome. I am beginning to really enjoy Daboll's approach.

He lost some weight too, I'm not sure how much but I remember before training camp started there were some reports he dropped like 10-15 lbs, there is a pic of him at an event somewhere over the summer and he looks real skinny, somebody posted it on here a few months back maybe it will pop up again.

Henne isn't that slow. I think its his build and stature that deceive people. He's 6'3 225-230 and looks thick especially up top. But he isn't really a statue that can't run. The problem was like you said, when he decided to run prior to this year he wasn't sure. This time he goes all out, puts his head down and starts churning those legs and moves those arms.

Henne completely blows LOL

People said he had met his ceiling at Michigan are about to be proved wrong all season long - the QB we watched last year was also (looks to me) about 10 pounds heavier - did it ever cross anyone's mind that Henne improved on his conditioning and running in the off season knowing that he doesn't have a contract next year?

Fair to say that he isn't a touch passer he is a lot more Brett Favre than Tom Brady that's for sure - he is wise to add another tool to his game...

Yah Horry when is the last time one of our QB went for 60 yards Dan ran for about 60 in his whole career - "Statue" or "Robot" comments are all ignorant - BTW when Elways throwing game wasn't working he tucked and ran and I wish our QBs would do this more often...

He is playing smarter! He was timing his runs perfect and breaking when he had room to run. Playing smarter makes you look faster think Jerry Rice.

Maybe he took a ballet class in offseason? He looked very nimble in the pocket on Monday.
