It's great to see Chad Henne taking off and running on occasions (59 yards). Where has this skill been hiding over the past few years? I thought he had zero running skills. I can't recall him taking off in college either.
I don't know but it looks good on him. It really does.
He was never really a "slug", even as a prospect... he ran a very respectable 40 time. I think the difference is that it's obviously something he's worked on in the offseason, but moreso it's the decisiveness that makes him look faster. He's not screwin' around when he decides to tuck it and run... when he makes the decision to break the line of scrimmage with the ball, he's 100% committed to his decision.
He's finally learning to just make a decision and live with it.... rather than second guessing himself about every little thing.
For what it's worth, Henne actually ran a better 3-cone than Terrell Pryor...
Henne - 7.17
Pryor - 7.20
Henne isn't that slow. I think its his build and stature that deceive people. He's 6'3 225-230 and looks thick especially up top. But he isn't really a statue that can't run. The problem was like you said, when he decided to run prior to this year he wasn't sure. This time he goes all out, puts his head down and starts churning those legs and moves those arms.
