has anyone seen or heard anything about him?

he was the talk in camp. fast, hard hitter, smart, etc....

can he really be THAT BAD that he cant get ANY playing time when
you have a gibril wilson on the field?

whats the deal? are the finz just in denial about wilson being the
HUGE bust that he is or, is there something wrong physically with
clemmons or with his game that as far as i know, is keeping him from
suiting up on game day.

anybody KNOW? heck, even a guess right now would fine.

i think they might be just working some things out with him, maybe he is struggling vs the run or learning the schemes or something (just a guess). i hope he can solve one of our S spots... more than likely i see him as an SS, i think he could be a FS because of his ballhawking skills people rave bout but he is a big hitter, hopefully he can be all around solid if not great. then trade up for Eric Berry!

Clemons is a strong safety. He is sitting behind Bell not Wilson. Culver is behind Wilson.

In due time, he has the talent, in due time he will play and take over the FS position

We also need to keep in mind that Safety is a bit harder to make the transition from college to pros.

The safeties have to be calm like a QB, have to be excellent communicators, and have to be students of the game. It is a very rare rookie that plays that position well. I have no problem with him sitting behind the veterans learning the position. Cornerbacks should play as soon as they are able because the position is basically athletic talent and film study. Safety is a very cerebral position.

Clemons is actually a strong safety and is behind Yeremiah Bell, and Bell plays strong safety. However I think Clemons is a better fit a free safety with his speed

You mirrored my sentiment perfectly =):up:

I just re-read it and fixed it. Thanks. I don't believe he is much better than Wilson in coverage which is why he is not getting the playing time. Though I doubt it would happen because of the sudden inconsistency of W. Allen, Sean Smith moving to Free Safety could have been an option. He played both CB and FS at Utah.

Very good point. If you recall the first couple of games last year J. Allen was playing FS and the secondary was in shambles. When Hill took over week 3, the communication improved tenfold and the secondary finished up the season much better.

Actually it was Chris Crocker that started last year when our secondary was playing so bad. Hill took over in week 3 and thats when our secondary made that drastic improvement. Jason Allen really did play very good in his starting time at Safety. He notched a 2 interception game along with 6 tackles againts the Eagles. In that dreadful 2007 season he started 9 games, had 62 tackles, 3 INT, 3 Deflections, and a FF. He must be a gamer because he can never get on the field on defense because of his practice habits. I just wish Sparano would give him more opportunites.

I still think this team can do well this season. Making the playoffs is starting to become expected. Its a win win either way. Either we win the division again, make the playoffs and possibly go all the way, or we choke all of a sudden and finish the season 4-12 Then we would be dominant next year because we would be able to draft someone the likes of Taylor Mays, along with being near the top of the list for all of the other rounds. Even if we do slightly better than that, we could get someone like Brandon Spikes or Eric Berry.

I truly think that Sparano is building this team for next year. When we will be able to draft another class and be able to run more of a base offense, with some Wildcat sprinkled in. And will be much more talented on Defense. We are a good team this year, i believe next year we will be an Elite team. A Super Bowl contending team, year in and year out.
