With most NFL teams in cap trouble once they make their cuts to make the cap deadline, where will all these star players find jobs?

If teams such as miami will be handcuffed in terms of FA activity doesnt it make sense so will the other teams in miamis position.

With only a handful of teams under the cap there seems to be more players then teams at this point, so what happens to all these players? play for significantly less money or not play at all?

Maybe that what the owners are attempting get the players to panic and feel like taking 56-57% is better then having no job, I dont know this is all to much Bull for me.

this happens every year...

I wanted to ask this question too, but for some reason I don't see a "Make a New Thread" link for me.

OK, so say there are 5 teams who have a lot of cap space. They can't sign every FA in the league, so where do these FA's go? Less money?

Other teams for less money.

Which is why we arent in the crisis mode that some here think- MOST teams dont have the cap room they normally would, and its the players that will just have to settle for less because not all high profile FAs will be signing with the 5 teams in good cap situations.

Nothing else to do but play for less money..If no one is able to sign em up for the money they want.

They either sign for league minimum all over the place, or they don't have jobs for the upcoming year(s).

they retire.. take less money.. or are out of the league..

just like last year

Alright then, so why are some folks here saying we're in trouble? Minnesota can't sign everyone, nor can Green Bay.

If you go to ESPN.com, John Clayton said something to this affect.

"Minnesota is in the best shape FA wise, especially with their 7 million dollars they earned after achieving incentives in the 2005 season"

Didn't we get our incentives too? Why would they earn 7 million, and we'd have 10 million taken from us?

Well this is why I dont understand Unions because now many players will be playing for less money then if they simply extended the deal.

A lot of people like to overreact

With this being said, I feel players would like to come here b/c of Saban and the future we have with this team. They will sign for less money for a shot at winning the championship.

I'm feeling a little better now, come to think of it. :cooldude:

I think a lot of these players will sign one year deals so they can have a new monster contract when there is no salary cap. However, I really don't understand the CBA and if this would even work.
