...if he'd come out this year ? We got him at 5th. Would he have been picked already ?

Who cares? We still have 4 more draft picks to make today.

Hard to say, would have depended on his senior season at USC and how he developed there.

No matter how you look at it, he was a good 5th round pick.

Last year there was alot of talk that he could have been one of the top DT if not the top had he played the year and lived up to his "POTENTIAL"

Its difficult to say, as it depends on the year he would have had in college, and how he performed at the senior bowl, combine etc. Its possible that he might have been out of shape for those workouts and therefore he could have fallen into the Rod Wright/Gabe Watson category.

The thing is, its not really a realistic comparison, as the point is we've had Manny in our pro setup now for a whole year, and he has done a lot of growing up he might not have done at USC. We also have him working out in our offseason program right now, rather than him sitting at home stuffing his face which he would probably be doing right now if he was in this draft.

IMO first round considering he would have just played in the nat championship gm (more exposure) plus a player like John McCargo going at 26 in the first. Perhaps at worst Manny would've lasted late 2nd round.

With his attributes I don't think he would have went any further than the 3rd if that far. Some teams draft players for size if nothing else and Ngata is a perfect example.

he was said to be a top 15 pick if he came out this year and played well, so i think we could possibly ahve a pro bowl dt

Out of shape or not he's very athletic for someone his size. He would have been a 1st day pick.

alot of lineman already went on the first day ( so theyre getting thin)...its a lock, he been scooped up in the 3rd, or 4th..

i would agree with a first day pick, but there are 2 highly rated DTs gabe watson from michigan and rod white from texas still not taken.

I had heard he would have been a first round pick if he would have come out when he was a junior.....so take that anyway you want to, i think he was a solid pick.
