Where would we be if...

We would be a mess .... it's that simple ...

We'd potentially have no running back ... and at BEST an average QB ...

I like where we are right now ....

IF I had to pay ..... I would rather pay for a known QB, than a known RB ...
 
We'd be talking about signing edge/jamal lewis/etc and still complaining about QB... that's all that would change.
 
Not much different. He would have sat year 1 so our record would be about the same. RB certainly helped us win games, but I don't know that he was the differnce maker yet. We'd feel we have our QB for the future. (I still think he'll be good.) We'd be looking at all the rbs expected to be available and debating Edge vs. Lewis, vs. Green, etc. vs. draft options like Lendale White and Deangelo Williams.

and kickin ourselves in the @$$ for pickin alex "the niner savior" smith
 
i wouldn't be here to avoid eating crow.
 
so many of these guys wanted Alex Smith last year, bunch of hypocrites now.
 
we would probably be in a good draft position to make a run for Reggie Bush
 
We'd be in sad shape, and I'm happy to eat crow on this, since I was one of Alex Smith's biggest pre-draft proponents last year.

Hes had the worse outing of anyone in recent history........including Ryan Leaf.
