Where in the hell is Ricky Williams? He's only played two games since coming back from hs suspension, but he's beginning to prove to me more and more that money wsa the only reason he came back. His attitude must be, you can make me play, but you can't make me play well. Either that, or he's now become the "Pedro Cerrano" (Major League II) of the Dolphins. He's found some sort of inner peace and doesn't have the grapefuits to get on the field and play like a warrior.

You dont seem to understand he's had two games after missing 5 weeks of practice, and before that 4 weeks of preseason with a year out of the game. Reasonably, it should take a game or two before he really has his feet.

I think he had 5 carries last night. He doesn't call his number, the coaches do.

Relax man. He is here and will be dominant again. The problem is Linehan refuses to run the ball. Even in the seasons where Ricky ran for 1500+ yards, he needs his carries. He gets 1,2,1,2,34,10 yards, as he gets the ball and wears them down and figures them out he dominates. Both Ricky and Ronnie need 15-25 carries each to be successful, and the team to be successful.
You can't run 6 times and expect gains.
Linehan needs to be called out in the media.

And you can't expect big gains when you're met by a couple defenders before you get to the line of scrimmage on the majority of your runs.

^^^^^Absolutely!!!! 14 carries between Ricky and Ronny in a close game is unacceptable!!!

The playcalling in the game last night was suspect as well. I can't remember, but sometime in the second quarter, Linehan was calling runs when we were in 1st and 20. Now, I can understand passing on 2nd and 1, or 3rd and 1, I like that, keeps the defense off balance. But running on 1st and 20 is almost always suicide. Yeah it's awesome when it works, but I never agree with it, in principle.

Bottom line, there should be AT LEAST 30 rushing attempts by Ricky and Ronnie a game. We need to wear people out if we can't stop 'em on D.

In fact, I really think Ronnie should be the main starter until he starts wearing down late in the season. Start working Ricky more and more in November so he can carry the load in December when he is nice and big again, and Ronnie is hurting.

Sometimes a coach can be too smart and out think himself. I think that might be happening to some of our coaches, they're too smart. I know that sounds dumb, but it's true.

Ricky will take a few games to get back in the swing of things, just like Ronnie did. I also think that the two running back system doesn't work. You have to do it like KC, you establish one(Ronnie) and then bring in the other(Ricky) to keep them both fresh and get them both 15+ carries. Put them both in the lineup on short yardage passing downs to draw defenders off of your receivers, that's the only practical use for having them in at the same time that I can think of.

Good points one and all. I guess after seeing Ricky run so well during the preseason, I figured that he would've had better numbers than he did. And I agree with you about Linehan. He may have an expolsive offense, which is why Saban brought him in, but Linehan's offense is based off of a good QB...which we're kind of lacking right now...

I am between being frustrated that Wicky is not getting the amount of carries he needs, and being annoyed Sweet Ronnie Brown is losing carries to Wicky.

I'm not sure this R-n-R thing is going to workout. I'm at a point where I think Saban needs to pick a HB and go with it. Both Wicky and Ronnie need a certain amount of carries before they really start to get going.

Where is Ricky..... He is being met by 2 to 3 defenders in the backfield... When a player has 5 caries for negetive yards that useually means a bad O-line. But then you look at Ronnie with I think 9 carries for 98 yards.... It leads me to think that this oline is still upset with him.

Ohall, let #34 get up to speed. He did not shine in preseason until his third game, Ronnie didn't start playin' smooth until game three, New Orleans is #34's third game. The problem is less #34 taking carries away from Ronnie as it is they are just not running enough. Both guys could have carried another 6-7 times each. I think we should be running minimum 30 times a game...our defense NEEDS the break.

So are you saying there will be a game in the future where we will not be so far behind and our rushing game will then be more affective? If so I can see that point.

My concern is at the beginning of each game Saban or Linehan kind of have to guess which one of their STUD HB's is going to get off to a hot start so we don't end up falling too far behind in that game.

About the 30 carry #, don't you think it is better for us as a team if one of the STUD HB's is getting above 21 or 22 carries a game. I think both of them are the kind of HB that gets most of their yards after they have beaten up a defense for 3 QTR's.

Rickys stats were completely horrible lastnight...... but i didnt think he played bad at all...... the o line would collapse and he would get touched 5 yards behind the line of scrimmage everytime he got the ball. HE had absolutely NO holes to run through.. and frerotte over threw him on that one long pass....
Its still the same ricky......

After hearing from you guys how horrible the play-calling was last night, I'm almost glad I didn't get to see the game.
