The one major change I've noticed in the past year or so is, obviously the defensive philosophy/scheme change but even more than that is the defensive passion.

I know I'm going back over a year but from the D side of the ball the excitment just doesn't seem to be there like it was when Bates was in charge. Now I know Saban is suppose to be a defensive genius but the lack of enthusiasm seems pretty obvious and detrimental to your team.

Thoughts?

Don't even try to blame this on the defense - once again we hold tough through 4 quarters, get dominiated on the offense side of the ball, and force our defense to try to hold on the entire game. You wanna blame someone? Blame 1)Mularkey 2)Culpepper and 3)our completely crappy offensive line. Things are bad enough around here without people screaming that Saban should be fired, our defense sucks, or Ronnie Brown is a bust.

I'm not blaming this on the Defense, I just dont see the passion like we had under bates.

Would you be excited going to work knowing that once again, you were gonna have to do all of the work in order to make this team even slightly competitive?

FINALLY some of us are seeing the light. All I have been hearing the last couple of weeks is the secondary, ageing defense, and so on. Although this is true this offense should be thrown off a cliff for making our defense set up camp on the field since they are out there so long. These games have been kept close by our ageing defense, only if our offense could score some points we could possibly win a few more games.

There is no way, no way in hell we should have put up less than 21 points on the NFLs worst rank defense. Everyone's trying to pass the buck to someone else, but it's the entire offenses fault, plain and simple. Case in point? David Carr gets sacked 4 times a game over the course of his career, and he *still* outplayed Culpepper out there. The line can't block, Mularkey is stuck trying to come back at 3rd and long, the whole thing stinks.

I think they have shown passion. A fumble, an INT and the offensive could only manage a FG out of each???? The defense is the only reason we haven't been blown out in the last couple of games. When you are on the field for 40 mins of a 60 min game, tends to wear you out. Why else are these teams scoring so much in the fourth quarter..... Our offense isn't given the defensive guys a break.

Neither am I, as my name obviously indicates. I can say this: if I woke up, went to work, and out of a team of individuals there were two or three of us doing everything while everyone else was failing at their jobs, there'd be hell to pay. I'd imagine my excitement would wane that much quicker if I had 250 pound guys hitting me in the chest.

#1.... No Junoir Seau... that was a stupid idea not to resign him... if for no other reason than to act like a cheerleader on the sidelines..

#2.. If the defense does not hold the opposition to the innitial 3 and out... Then expect for a long sustained drive usually ending in points.. It seems like when the opposition makes their first 1st down, its all down hill for them...

The team moral is gonna start going in the crapper and that sucks because the team can get better but it may be too late before anyone gives a sh*t anymore!!!
