I remember asking this at the beginning of the season. What happened to the up tempo attack that Philbin said he was installing 2 years ago? The offense was supposed to be about rhythm, wearing the defense down, dictating a certain pace to keep a defense from substituting thus dictating matchups. Wasn't that why Philbin put in the practice innovation of having back to back 7s on 7s going? This offense was supposed to always beat the opponent in number of plays run.
Chip Kelly stuck to his guns and got the offense he wanted, and you can argue that the players will be better next year in executing. The Patriots have been running an up tempo system for a couple of years now.
