I'm half way through the game right now and I'm not seeing much zone blocking. I thought we were making a transition to more of a zone blocking run attack which is why Daniel Thomas was a good fit. Usually you'll see stretch plays and runs that move the back more laterally before he gets the ball. Am I blind or did I imagine that we were switching to more of a zone blocking scheme?

Also as a side note, on the pass that Thomas caught in the flat he actually looked a lot faster than I thought he was previously. Just a thought.

We didn't gameplan, perhaps we're saving it for the season opener? I'm hoping our O-line plays better against Carolina, I wanna see what Thomas can do when there's actually somewhere to run.

I don't expect us to show too much of our offense in the preseason. Whether it be blocking, plays, formations, etc. Being we have a new offense, it does give us an advantage against the Patriots when there's as little tape on our offense as possible.

When John Beck was a QB under Cam Cameron everyone including this inept FO thought that the line was the problem, even though Dolphins ran all over with Samkon Gado. Now after 4 years of focus on Oline they are worse than in 2007. :sidelol:

Line dont look like they could do any blocking scheme much less zone. -

Well it's not like it's a wrinkle that we don't want to show anyone. Everyone knows how a zone scheme works so I don't know why we wouldn't show it.

I completely agree and I thought the whole reason we brought in Pouncey was that he was mobile and that we were moving to a zone blocking run scheme. Daniel Thomas also makes perfect sense in a zone scheme because he runs fairly straight up. When you think of teams that run a lot of zone blocking run plays they have running backs that run straight up. Green Bay (Ryan Grant), Houston (Arian Foster), Redskins (Ryan Torain, Tim Hightower)
