Which current starters are expendable

No need to be so mushy moo about it. We have a lot to be happy about as a team. You know we are in a playoff hunt right that if we get in we prob play a team we already beat. That's a good thing. A very good OL could do wonders for this team. A solid CB on the other side of Grimes too. Look at the holes going into next year and the holes that we had going into 2012. Im much happier now.

Very unimpressed by this team. We should have murdered the Jets yesterday. They should have lost by 40 pts.

We don't have a real #1 WR and all our money is tied up in what we have. Our RBs are below avg. Miller is weak and has never impressed me and we don't have FB. TE is avg. Clay has improved but we have nothing behind him. Hopefully we can do something with Kellers money/spot. Our OL will require our full attention this offseason and if Ireland is involved, then it will fail. The bright spot on D is Grimes and he could very well be gone next year.

How many teams replace the number of players we did this year and compete for a playoff spot??? The fact that we're even competing is a testament to the talent and coaching staff that we have in place. Build it from here, a total revamp would be disastrous

Hey if we're getting Josh Gordon as our #2 wide receiver, we should try to trade for Adrian Peterson as our RB and Peyton Manning as our QB.

There is huge difference between barely sneaking into the playoffs and contending for a SB. Hell the Jets were still in the race and they are horrible. Where is this big jump in talent going to come from to put us at the next level? You look at the teams that are real contenders and they all have something we don't, elite talent at key positions.

Honestly I would trade Wake for the best offer and invest those picks to meet needs.Jordan takes Wake's place.sign Grimes and Clemons long term and Patterson if he's reasonable in his price. OL we need both tackles qnd one guard. These 3 positions cqn be met in FA and the draft. I would sign Keller if he is 100% healthy. If not I would invest a high pick for a seem threat like Ebron.

Wake was the dominant Wake early in the season before his injury. Clearly he isn't 100%. We know what he looks like when he's fully healthy.

I would take playoffs over not going to playoffs. Unless you are the Chiefs this one year you don't usually do a 180 in this league. If you do a 180 it's usually bad (Texans, Falcons)

Nobody on this team is untouchable IMO, as in we have no elite talent.

Cameron Wake??

Not to mention people like Grimes, Wallace and Soliai would start on 90% of the teams in the league... I'd say that's pretty close to elite.

Re-signing Grimes is a must. I wouldn't trade Wake. Daniel Thomas is gone, replace him with a veteran to run with Miller. Re-sign Keller to another 1 year contract and let him prove he's healthy (I'd also draft a TE too). Spend several draft picks on the OL. Not sure about Clemons. Any FA safeties worth bringing in?

Expendable: Tannehill, Moore, Rbs, OL except Pouncy, Caroll, Sturgis, and most everyone else. The question ought to be who is not expendable: Wake, Hartline, Grimes, Wallace, Pouncy, Starks, Soliai.

What a surprise..little Patty's daddy who "coincidentally" joined FH 2 weeks after Devlin was signed wants to get rid of the competition one way or another.."and as we know from past posts - even if it means wishing injury on Tannehill.

I mentioned Gordon because I think he's a free agent next year. But I'd also take Hakeem nicks in that spot. And why can't we have two stud WR? Atlanta and Chicago have two

That's the point of the original post! I'm asking which starters would you like to keep on this team and which would you like to see replaced with better talent that would put us over the top??

What a surprise this Vaaark guy writes the same thing everytime, and is supposedly Jeff Ireland's Dad who coincidentally joined FH the same time Ireland was hired, who also never played football as well. Who also spends his life on this board posting in blue ink saying "LOOK AT ME, LOOK AT MY POST, I'M SO WITTY!"

Lets break it down

QB - Nobody leaving except maybe Devlin.
RB - Miller is staying, Thomas might go, Gillislee and Thigpen who knows
TE - Clay stays, Egnew has one more year, Sims stays at least one more
OT - Yep, need em
OG - Yep, need em
C - Pouncey is good
WR - Wallace, Harline, and Gibson just signed big contracts. They stay.

DT - Solai or Starks are gone. Id prefer Starks since Odrick can beef up 10 and fill that role well. Want to see Solai stay
DE - Wake, Vernon, and Jordan all pretty obviously stay. Why not, they are good. Not sure about Shelby
LB - Misi, Ellerbee, and Wheeler just signed big contracts. They stay. Jenkins prob stays one more year. Trusnik is good on ST. Doubt much happens here for 2 years.
CB - God please resign Grimes. FA another CB and work the rookies in next year. Carroll has played better this year but is still a liability. Patterson is awesome, if he plays and will prob go.
S - Jones resigned, no going anywhere. Clemmons was a 1 year contract and could be gone. Playing decent though. Draft pick or FA could come in here.

Denney and Fields had better stay. Sturgis might get one more year, but he is hard to watch now.

IMHO

QB: Mike Devlin is who he's going to be. He will not be our backup in 2015 when Matt Moore becomes a free agent so we'll use a late pick next year to find a guy who might be able to beat out Devlin for the #3 next year and be groomed to be the backup in 2015.

RB: Miller is here, Thomas is gone, Gillislee gets one more camp to prove himself, Thigpen sticks as a returner, we sign a cheap free agent to provide inside running.

TE: Clay and Sims stay, perhaps we use a late pick on a tight end to push Egnew.

WR: We're set.

OL: Y'all can flame away on this, but I see five new starters next year. Maybe we offer McKinnie a one-year deal if he wants to come back and his knee isn't shot, but there's no chance we re-sign Clabo or either of the guards. And I fear that our new GM is going to ship Pouncey out of South Florida given what's likely to come out in the Wells report and the Hernandez grand jury. Active in free agency and high draft picks.

DL: We're set at the ends. I think Soliai gets a new contract and Starks is allowed to walk. Our last DT will be a late draft pick or UDFA.

LB: All three starters return, along with Jenkins and Trusnik. We use a draft pick on a rookie who has a chance to back up next year and push Wheeler for his job in 2015.

CB: Grimes HAS TO BE re-signed. Patterson is a tough call -- great when he's been healthy, but he hasn't been healthy. Do you restructure his contract (extend him a couple of years in exchange for converting much of his 2014 salary to playing time incentives) or keep him at his current deal and get 100% cap savings if he can't stay on the field next year? If we use a draft pick on a corner, that's a very bad signal about Jamar Taylor.

S: I think we bring Clemons back on a relatively short deal. I'm fine with Wilson as one backup but we need one more.

ST: Sturgis gets veteran competition to keep his job. Fields and Denney are keepers.

Wallace is the laziest, most gutless WR I've seen in a while. He's a whiner, and he gives absolutely NO extra effort- be it in trying to play defense when the throw calls for it, or making the tough catch in traffic, or giving a block here and there, or running a tough route. All he wants to do is run deep and have a perfect pass dropped into his hands. What a shame what Miami is paying him....
