Here's my list:

McIntosh (He hasn't been bad but I think he'll either be a backup or cut)
McKinney
Spragan/Seau
Madison (If it's not too much of a hit, he's going to get cut to allow our D to get younger)
Schulters
Tillman

I agree with most of those. We will have a new starter at QB too.

The only reason I didn't put Frerotte there is because if we sign a rookie, I don't think he sees the field until late in the season if at all. Therefore, either Gus, Sage (who I don't think they're going to give a shot to start), or Lemon (who doesn't have a good shot at making it either).

I hope your kidding. For one have you seen how good our line has been this year? Hey, if they come cheap and are playing good regardless of the coach let them stay.

And why would you take away two of our best secondary players in Madison and Schulters? Schulters has made so many plays to see his name on this list just destroys this post's creditibility. And Sam, sure he doesn't end up with the ball alot, but hey, he keeps his man in check. You ever hear a "OMGS! SAM JUST GOT BURENDD! CUTT!!!", no. Oh, and if you didn't notice, if it weren't for Sam's INT in the buffalo game I bet you anything we would have lost it...these two players have saved us games, and that is enough for me to say that they should stay.

i disagree on schulters and madison. lance has played the best out of our entire secondary, and i think we will want to re-sign him. and i really dont thinik SMad i going anywheree

Definately the shulters thing is crazy... But madison is another story, his salary is astronomical next year and unless he was dion sanders in his PRIME, he is not going to be on this team at that price. The other problem is who replaces these guys?Rookies? Free agents ? Who would they be and would it make this team better or just younger?

The truth is that our OL has been average. You're probably comparing this year to last year which would then lead you to believe that it's great when it's not. This OL is average. If you think this OL is great, you're kidding yourself. I tend to believe that you build a winner on the OL and DL. We have to get much better on OL if we're going to be great.

As far as Madison is concerned, he's getting older and more expensive. Can he still play? Yes. Is he that great that we should keep him at his age and at his salary? Hell no!! Unless he restructures, he should go.

Schulters is playing good but the truth is he's also getting old and he'll be looking for one last big payday. I don't think Saban is going to give him that at his age.

I'M NOT SAYING THAT THESE PLAYERS CAN'T PLAY. I'M JUST SAYING THEY WON'T BE WITH US NEXT YEAR BECAUSE OF THEIR PROJECTED SALARY OR THE SALARY THEY WILL COMMAND NEXT YEAR ON THE FA MARKET OR THEIR AGE.

I agree with the list except for Madison and Shulters. Shulters needs to be re-signed because he's been (imo) the best player in our secondary all year long. The penalty for cutting/trading Madison will probably be large and since he's been pretty good this year, I see no harm in bringing him back. McKinney may also have a spot here unless Hadnot stays at center and we get a new guard. I doubt we shovel out the money for Bentley with bigger needs at other positions.

Well said. This is a mediocre line in need of at least 2 new players in order to become a good or even a great line down the road.

I think you're a year early on this.

I'm less clear about this. We'll have to see how Nick works things if you ask me.

I don't see McIntosh being replaced unless there is a draft pick that wows the coaches during camp. I do see an upgrade being drafted this year.

Seau is not coming back, and Spragan will be kept as a backup.

Madison is probably not the best for the current scheme, but no one is going to take on his current salary, and I believe he will agree to a salary reduction to finish his career in Miami. His experience in the league and now experience in Saban's scheme will allow him to finish in Miami.

I see Schulters getting a slight raise to stay, and Yeremiah Bell will be in the mix. The rest of the secondary jobs are up for grabs. A smart safety will be drafted on the second day. Safeties can be found with good scouting.

Finally, Frerotte will be starting next year on opening day. Leinart might be the only quarterback ready to come in and start tomorrow, but I don't think Leinart's arm strength or level of athleticsm fits with our offense. I think the QB depth chart will be 1) Frerotte 2) Sage 3) Lemon, Printers, or best draft pick, someone like Brodie Croyle or Charlie Whitehurst

agree with all except lance, i do like tillman though, i hop we hold onto him

ya know.. its not smart to try and replace a large percentage of a team at one time.. especially the offensive line... those guys need rep's in real games to gel... which for the most part they are doing...

I think Sam will be around.. but I think we'll be getting another CB to help out.... Sam might end up #2.
