Since the QB thread I started got a lot of participation, I figured I would do one on our coaches too.

These threads, while negative, are something that I feel bring us together. Its always easier to be negative than positive about this team...but when its about the CURRENT team we get nasty with each other. Its nice to look back on the PAST and be negative. It makes us appreciate the now!

After seeing Gase doing push ups in front of the players and bonding with them...It got me thinking...who do I resent being the head coach of the Dolphins the most? Its not about who was the worst....I think we can all agree that Cam Cameron wins there...but who did you hate the most?

Arguments can be made for each of them...but for me....its WITHOUT A DOUBT - Wannstedt.

I'll never forget all his press conferences "well from a certain standpoint you could see it from a different standpoint and realize there was another standpoint." ....STANDPOINT. Every single time he spoke he used the word. He was the reason Ricky quit on our team. He made Ricky 71% of our offensive plays in 2003 and that led to Ricky quitting on the team and football. He only cared about the defense he INHERITED...he was part of wasted drafts, and he wasted the careers of ZT and JT. He also 100% stood behind Jay Fiedler...and while I have love and respect for Jay...a head coaches responsibility is to improve the team and we KNEW we needed improvement there. He started our decline. Those were very painful years to look back on once we went through the real ****...because we had such potential back then.

I think a lot of you guys have short memories. He was reviled on these boards back then. Way more than Philbin ever was. These boards, which weren't managed quite as effectively back then were FLOODED with threads about getting rid of him for years.

**** him. Its no coincidence he never got a job in the NFL ever again. Shows you he should have never had the job to begin with.

I've never been as excited with a head coach until Adam Gase. God I hope it pans out...but if nothing else...at least we don't have to deal with any of these guys anymore right?

I mean I just don't know if I could pick only one and not hate the other ones just as much.

Cam Cameron- That was very brutal. Chose him over Mike Tomlin.

Saban- Jumped shipped because he realized he couldn't just recruit the best players. Let the defense get old. Brees over Culpepper.

Sparano- I've never seen someone so happy we kicked five field goal in one game. He refused to understand the game was changing.

Philbin- Couldn't handle egos or level with players at a human level.

Wanny- Got by on the fact that he was JJ pupil. Refused to acknowledge they were a QB away and ran Ricky too hard

All valid points jazz. It really has been miserable hasn't it?

To all you old timers out there....I really hope you can fully appreciate Don Shula.

I wasn't old enough to understand the game until Jimmy Johnson took over. This has been MY LIFE as a Dolphins fan....

For me it's Saban, and it's not even close. If he didn't have the passion or drive to coach in the NFL, then he shouldn't have left college in the first place. That dickbeard and his crimson tide can go play in traffic.

Is it just me, or do the poll results look like a graphical representation of "the shocker"?

Most hated for me:
1) Nick Saban
a distant 2) Philbin
3) Cameron

The biggest backstabbing jerk was Saban so he should be the most hated by far. Cam was a good guy as was Wanny but they just couldn't cut it as the head man- as position coaches they'd be fine. I liked Tony but he was in over his head. Jimmy's heart wasn't into coaching. Joe would be better off as a Sunday School Teacher.

It's gonna take Saban out of that #1 spot for me, f@#k that m@#$%^r f@#$%^r

Most hated

Saban-Liar
Philbin - Idiot
Cameron Clueless
Wanny - Sucked
JJ - Mis treated Dan
Meatball - Stuck with Henne

I have contempt for Nick Saban, and I'll never like the guy on account of the fact that he tried to blame other people for the Culpepper fiasco, but let's face it, there's only one answer here and it's Dave Wannstedt.

Dave Wannstedt also passed on Drew Brees. Dave Wannstedt was also the coach and de facto GM of the team. Dave Wannstedt was also flat out worse at both jobs, held those jobs longer, did much more damage to the team, and then had the ****ing gall to blame the fans for the ****ty job he did after the fact.

Dave Wannstedt is one of the biggest failures in the history of pro football, having had the chance to singlehandedly ruin TWO different franchise in two different conferences, with both of those teams taking years to recover from his terrible personnel decisions and the culture of ineptitude and losing he managed to instill in them.

I hate Dave Wannstedt.

wow this is hard for me. By the end of their tenure, I couldn't even look at their clueless, stupid faces on the TV anymore. In order:

1. Wannachmuck - I remember when Ricky quit on the team (ruining our season before it began) saying to my brothers that he knows what he's doing and it is for the best - ensuring coach got fired after the season. That's how much I couldn't stand DW.

2. Philbin - he lasted 2 seasons too long and how painful they were. When he gave GB the free timeout after a sack / fumble / 4th and 11 w time running out, etc is when I could no longer bear to look at the guy w anything but disgust.

3. Morono - his game management was awful. He was stuck in the '70's w the brand of ball he wanted to play.
