If I could it would have read Baker-McMillan because both are essentially rookies and our LB corps was the team's biggest weakness. Did not support the run and couldn't defend the pass in the middle.
Absolutely, the sexy pick would have been Fitz, but our LB core has stunk like forever. Baker and McMillian adds some much needed speed that we have desperately lacked.

I picked Fitz - I think he will step up and become something special and allow our pass rush to impact the game.

I picked Gesicki only cause he'll help put points on the board which is the name of the game.

I picked Gesicki cause he can really help out Tannehill/the offense but really we need all those guys to contribute, not to mention Quinn as well. I know he's not a rookie but he's new to the team and we'll need a good pass rush

I voted Gesicki because I really believe Miami's defense is made to succeed with a lead, if Gesicki gels in the offense from day one, the offense is going to become special, and in so doing, teams will have to play catchup more often, then not...working into what our defense is built to do.

Fitz and Gesicki are pretty equal in their importance. A FS who is a great player and able to make the correct calls on the back end can transform a defense. Think Earl Thomas. This defense has been missing exactly that (among other things). Plus there's that whole needing to hit with 1st rounders thing.

Gesicki is the TE that Gase has been unsuccessfully trying to find to fully implement his offense ... of which TE is a huge part. Add to that a QB coming off a devastating injury ... and you've got a double whammy of importance.

That's two years in a row where we got 1st round value in the 2nd round. Falling vaue ... I wish I could teach a class.

Agree 100%.
Kicker could be important too!

This is a close one, but for me it's Gesicki. No knock on Minkah Fitzpatrick (absolutely LOVE the pick) but the topic is "biggest impact." We have ascending talent in the defensive backfield, even though Fitzpatrick will make them better; it's Gesicki who will make the bigger impact because very few can do what he can as a TE. He will be that threat at the TE position we never had before. He will be that red zone threat we sorely missed. He will be that "weekly" matchup nightmare for opposing defenses, which will open up things for or WRs and RBs.

Both of these players will change the way teams scheme against us, man I'm getting excited to see how this team looks.

I second that

Minkah will have the biggest impact. Having him back there with his range and football IQ will get the defense off the field on third down.
That guy is a playmaker and I expect him to prove his worth early.

I voted for Minkah

Fitzpatrick - With only TJ in front of him on the depth chart Minkah will be on the field for nearly every defensive snap.

Gesicki- I cant imagine sees more than a handful of passes (and probably only in the Red Zone) with all the high priced receivers around him.
