I am of the opinion that a great offensive line is equally as tough to acquire as a great quarterback. A great quarterback is rare as we all know. But you have five positions required for a great O-line which I think normally would make it the tougher to acquire. But free agency allows you to get a really good offensive lineman more easily and a really good lineman can be coached to greatness.

It is easier to find good O-lineman in FA and later in the draft. Finding a good QB in the draft is hard and finding one in FA is even harder. This is the reason I am for trading up for Cutler.

It's harder to find QB's because of their importance in an offense. There'll always be good OL who fit the mold and is more tied into coaching (i.e. Houck). It's not easy finding OL but compared to finding a good QB, it's a piece of cake. Getting a good QB in the draft or FA is like a lottery jackpot.

Plus, having Houck makes things alot easier when trying to build a good line.

I think a great O-line combined with the Dolphins RBs, WR, and TE would make an average QB pretty good. And a good QB relatively great.

your telling me its harder to find a qb then 5 linemen...thats a joke...to get a real quality o line is much harder...there arent that many realyy good o linemen to anchor offensive lines any more and we certainly dont have one at the moment...

Um, you forgot to put Hudson Hauck in your equation

The man is the best line coach living. He took last years basic package and made them more than respectable. He is an effing magician. One maybe two O-lineman away from a great dominating line. Hudson will have some input this offseason and Alabi may turn out to be an effective player. If we had a line coach other than Hudson I would say the O-line was the tougher need to solve over QB , with him aboard I can only see it one way.

In order to have a good line you dont need to have 5 outstanding linemen....you need 2 good-great lineman and 3 coachable/determined guys. In 2 drafts along with two free agency terms you can build a good-great oline. How many drafts/free agency terms will it take to find a great QB? 26 of 32 teams are still searching. This is a no brainer....QB. Once in a lifetime you draft the right guy for the right system and everything falls into place. A la Marino...Montana...Elway etc etc. Most franchises have gone through 1-2 good not even great QB's in their franchise history with the rest being avg......a select few go through a great one....but how many good lineman do teams go through? Exactly.

a QB because you can take any big strong guy and make him a good o lineman its all pushing and knowing the plays and tecnique which are easy to learn, at QB you need leadership, good awarness athleteisism now a days and a good arm, its rare that you find a QB with all these things because many can not be taught
