Which is more likely in the near future.....

I think what Saban wants to do next year is continue drafting defense and maybe a killer LOT( there are tons available next year). If Feeley doesnt progress, he will be forced to address that position but if Feeley can step up his game a notch or two I think we bypass the QB position

Boy would Omar be nice.

I don't get the Omar Jacobs thing, he's talented, but he's a huge project, his throwing motion is horrible. I realize some Qb's can get by with bad mechanics, but when I watch him play, I see the talent, but I also see the throwing motion which I think is gonna hurt him on the next level. I think Saban taking his own Qb is by far more likely. If the coaching staff had confidence in Feeley, I think they would've named him the starter, e.g. Buffalo with Losman. I don't know who the starter will be next season, but I think there is a better chance of Gus being here than Aj. Leinart would be absolutely great, but I think there will be a bidding war for him and I don't know if Saban will trade alot of picks to get him. The Qb who I believe will emerge like Alex Smith did this past season is Tyler Palko of Pitt, if Wanny does not screw him up I think this kid can be a very good NFL Qb, but he does have Wanny as a coach, and I'd bet he screws him up.

Nick has final say, but I believe it was speculated that Linehan would've rather of had a Qb, and whose to say they wouldn't of taken Smith if he came out. It was reported by ESPN the magazine in a very good article that Pete Carroll called the top 3 teams in the draft, and noone would gurantee they would take Leinart, and Saban told him "we're not taking a Qb," than it was reported that if Smith were available he would've been the choice. Nick ran the draft very well, and did not give away what he was gonna do, but if Leinart would've came out I think Alex Smith is a Miami Dolphin right now. Nick has final say, but when I think Linehan has alot of input on whose taken offensively atleast.

I have thought about it. The question still stands. If the Dolphin's pick is in the 2nd half of the first round, all the big name/sure bet Qbacks will be off the board. So, does he go with the big arm, or a scrambler, west coast type Qback?

why not both? aj is what 28? if we draft a qb, and expect AJ to play until he is 32 or so, that means the 22 year old rookie will only be 26 when he takes over, and saban should have a solid team built by then.
