I dont know which one is higher talent wise. But if it is CFL the we have a steal in Cameron Wake.

CFL is definitely higher talent wise. The NFL is for the best talent from college football. The ones who can't make the NFL usually go to the CFL or Arena Football. Think about college football, a lot of those players never go on to play proffesional football. CFL is still a professional league.

Also, we didn't just get a CFL player, we got best Defensive player in the entire league. I don't care if it is the CFL, 23 sacks in one season is just plain sick. He won't be an elite player coming into the league, but he can be a very good one.

The fact that RW couldn't tear it up should show you alittle thats pretty good football. Avery did alright in Toronto because he suited the pass first league that it is.

Ricky used to play in the CFL, Warner used to play in the Arena League. Both of them can ball and they both belong in the NFL. Let's hope Wake belongs in the NFL...

Thats what I though. This guy is a better signing of any 5round pick and down. His mature and wants to play. His not going to be a jason taylord but he adds depth in our LB core.
Some players need more time to develop. For example: Look where is Warner for the second time. I saw some youtube video of CWake and he looks quick and strong. Then again in the NFl everyone is Quick and strong.

The great thing for him in the CFL is that because it is a throwing league (sprinkled with some running plays) he has been training to be an excellent pass rusher. Taking on NFL sized Olineman against the run will be a difficult transition for him. But to rotate him in with Roth taking the run downs and Wake the pass downs will be best for him early on.

There were a few reasons he didn't "tear it up"......He was injured for a while, out of shape and was learning to get used to the wider field & CFL system as well as not being totally into football at that point.

Here's a old Sun Sentinel article about it:

Right from one of the owners:

"We didn't know Ricky but it was appeared he was turned off football for whatever reasons,'' said Argos co-owner Howard Sokolowski. "The first four games he had difficulty, partly because he was out of shape and getting used to the wider field and three downs. Then he got hurt, but when he came back he was the Ricky of the University of Texas, a powerhouse."

Best player period, in my opinion. Nobody dominated the league like he did the last two years.

Sorry but I watch CFL games especially Toronto and at no point did he play like he was "the Ricky of the University of Texas, a powerhouse"

What is an owner gonna say after signing a guy that just got suspended from the NFL, opps. They were trying to sell more tickets and it didn't work.

lets hope for the best. he looks like a great athlete and adds great depth to our LB's. maybe in a few years when peezy is done, cam will take over the weak side. i think he could be better than porter on the weak side. he is made to get after the QB.

The reality is, there are only so many spots on each NFL team. There are bums on every team, but because teams are tied to them financially, they keep their jobs. Troy Williamson? Mike Williams? I mean every team has a list of guys that suck, but for some reason have a job in the NFL. Meanwhile, you have guys in leagues outside the NFL that can straight out play, but never get a fair shot due to MONEY. It sucks, but unfortunately, thats the reality.

Kelly Campbell, remember him? Had a good year this past season in the CFL. Adarius Bowman wasnt even drafted, but looked good this year in the CFL until an injury sorta slowed things. The NFL I think sometimes places way too much importance on numbers. Size, 40 time, bench reps. When you watch tape, it doesnt lie. Either a guy is a football player, or he isnt. I dont care how fast he runs, or how strong he is. Do something with it on the field.

Overall it would have to be the CFL.. but then again D1 NCAA has way more talented players, but they are spread out throughout the many many teams that make up the ncaa...

although i can recall a few USC, the U, and Texas teams that would have been able to dominate in the CFL.. hell i think the year USC played Texas in the Rose bowl either one of those teams could of put up a good game against the worst NFL team at the time

The CFL has a lot of players that were stars in college. You'd have to be kidding yourself if you thought college athletes are better than CFL players because those same college players are the ones playing in the CFL, and they have more experience and are playing full time, not going to school.

Also, I heard someone saying something about him not being able to face NFL o-lineman. CFL o-lineman are 300+lbs., there's not much of a drop off in that regard, and Wake still pushed them around.
