I know we've all made our predictions as to who will surprise us this season and who will make a big impact for us, but now it's time to decide who will be the biggest dissapointment for us. IMO, Tebucky Jones will be the biggest dissapointment. I think he is going to stick out like a sore thumb in our secondary and will be responsible for giving up some big plays in the pass defense. I really hope I'm wrong but I think since S is one of our 2 biggest needs (DT being the other), I think it's going to be magnified if he gives up some big plays because we won't have anyone more qualified to get the job done.

IMO, if anyone in our secondary is a liability, it means our Defensive line isn't doing its job. We've handed full responsibility to them. Taylor, roth, carter, traylor...they need to get to the QB. The opposing team should not have time to get off a well set up deep pass.

Wow, tough to predict without avoiding being pessimistic. I honestly don't think TeBucky Jones will be a disappointment... the first name that comes to mind to me is Vonnie Holliday, though I hope I'm wrong and hope we don't have any big disappointments.

I would have to say Gus the way everyone is hyping him up. I think we will get good play from the Oline and feely this year so its not that big of a deal.

Tesucky Jones will be a huge disapointment to alotta people except for me. I know he wont be good. Everyone will wish we kept Knight or freeman

I think The mistake was the signing of spragan I just dont see him playing unless someone gets hurt

You may be right about Tebucky's peformance. But the expectations for him from the start have been somewhat low anyway, so it would be hard to call him a big disappoinment.
Hopefully everyone either lives up to their potential and/or over-achieves. There are several guys who COULD dissapoint. But hopefully Saban can get the best out of all our guys.

well if you're thinking eddie moore, just shush. If you're thinking crowder, you have a point. But Spragan will play. He'll probably actually start. Crowder will be the guy whos moved around a lot.

Ricky... ;)
I dont think he is going to be able to come back and be as effective as everyone seems to think he will. Three reasons why: Not that I have ever played organized football, but it doesnt seem like the kinda sport you can walk away from for a whole year, and then come right back. Secondly, I think Brown and Gordon will be doing well enough to not want to mess with what is working after week 4. Lastly, I dont hink his heart is in it.

If Ricky doesnt count as a newcomer, I am going to go with Ferrotte. EVeryone seems to think that if AJ fails, Gus will automaticaly step in and play solid. The man hasnt been a starter for some time, and I would assume there is a reason for that. I honestly havent seen him play much, therefore I am basing this on everyones assumptions about his solid play, more so than his actual playing ability. The reality of Gus's ability will be disappointing..

Although, i think something should be said here. If there are any bills, pats or jets fans reading this please voice your opinion on this. But outside of dolphins fans, i don't believe any player we picked up has any true expectations to be filled. We like to think everyone we sign is our savior, but around the league, their probably just some other teams trash. Do we want holliday to perfom, of course. However, to most people hes just the guy who couldn't cut it on the cheifs D-line. Do we want to see big things from stockar mcdougal, definitly. But to the average fan hes just a lineman who's underacheive his whole career. I don't think anyone will be a dissappointment, because after this season, they're are no high expectations.

I see Roth seeing action at LB also on a 3-4 scheme

I know that Pope and Ayanbadejo arent "Saban" people but they did well for us last year... Lionel turner could also be a decent backup

Traylor.......I think that Saban is going to regret even looking at him. He will be 36, and everybody's like, all he has to do is sit there, but I think he's in trouble. He said before he signed with the Phins that he didn't have anything left. He came to mini camp TERRIBLY out of shape. The sweltering heat is really going to limit him, and honestly I dont see how he'll make it through camp. I have a feeling that Saban signed somebody who might even be only a 1 down player. It wouldn't suprise me if he just walks away during camp and retires.

Ronald Flemons was also getting work at LB during mini-camp. He's freaking huge, as tall as Taylor (6'6"), and actually weighs more than Jason. If he shows good dropping ability, and shows some speed, he could very well make it as a LB as well.

Pope didn't play well, nor did he play badly. He was just kind of "there". He will have to show A LOT to even warrant a roster spot. Saban moved him to outside LB, but if other guys shine (like Flemons), Derrick is gone.

Ayan is nothing special. He's a special teamer, and just happened to be at the right place to pick Brady. Like Pope, he neither played well, nor badly.

Donnie Spragan and Mario Edwards. I never understood the excitement some people had with the Spragan signing. I have never been impressed by his game. It's possible that in a different system, if used correctly, he might be effective. But from what I've seen, I think that he's an average linebacker at best. Mario Edwards better not start or we are going to be in alot of trouble.
