I was curious about who of our own free agents you guys think we should resign...heres the list...

Matt Moore
Knowshon Moreno
Louis Delmas
Jared Odrick
Daryn Colledge
Samson Satele
Charles Clay
Jimmy Wilson
Jason Trusnik
Jason Fox
Kelvin Sheppherd
Derrick Shelby
Jonathan Freeny
Daniel Thomas
Michael Thomas
Lamichael James
Jordan Kovacs
R.j. Stanford

I would definately resign Clay, he most likely wont get alot of money and he is a solid contributer when healthy. Another guy i would definately resign is shelby, hes a good depth guy who will come cheap. These 2 guys i would definately resign.

The problem with moreno and delmas is injury concerns. They were good while they played but the both suffered acl injuries.

Id bring satele back as a backup at the right price. I doubt hes gonna get alot of interest from other teams or a big deal and i wouldnt mind holding onto him for depth if hes cheap enough.

I think matt moore will at least explore his options and if he doesnt get much interest or offered a fair competition with another team to start then maybe he would stay here as a backup on a cheap deal. But i think moore will leave when its all said and done. I also think odrick will ultimately find himself somewhere else next year too. Im sure hes gonna wanna get paid. I dont think we will pay for him.

And guys like jimmy wilson, daniel thomas, jason trusnik, daryn colledge and the rest of them can all go.

So who would you guys resign?

100%: Michael Thomas, Derrick Shelby

Maybe: Jared Odrick, Charles Clay, Matt Moore, Jonathan Freeny, Louis Delmas

Good-bye: The rest

I agree w this. Clay may not be the seam-buster some people want but he's a competitor and a clutch player. He plays hard and makes key plays when it counts. Shelby keeps getting better and has a nice future ahead. Ordick might not get the money as he didn't have a good year so perhaps we get him back on our terms. I'd like Satele back for depth (like for exactly what happened this year). After that I like Moreno - he provided leadership and is a heck of a ball player. I have no issue w Trusnick (plays hard) and Freeny as serviceable backups and Special Teams. We can move on from Moore now unless he would take half of what he made the last 2 years. I liked how Delmas played but he may not be ready come Spring. The rest of the guys can all move on or retire etc.

If moreno is healthy and we can get him on a cheap deal i would do it. I feel like he feels he has something to prove and we need guys with the passion he has on this team.

Does anyone know how morenos recovery has been going?

Clay for the right price. Don't care about the rest

Matt Moore - Resign cheap or bye bye
Knowshon Moreno - Resign cheap
Louis Delmas - Resign cheap
Jared Odrick - Resign solid player if not unspectacular can be a 4-3 DT or 3-4 DE

Samson Satele - Resign for a decent price Best true center Miami had in years
Charles Clay - Resign on a prove it deal. Knee injuries to skill players are like back injuries to big uglies
Jimmy Wilson - bye bye
Jason Trusnik - Resign Solid special teams
Jason Fox - Who?
Kelvin Sheppherd - Resign cheap
Derrick Shelby - Resign cheap
Jonathan Freeny - Who
Daniel Thomas Bye bye
Michael Thomas Resign cheap
Lamichael James - Resign cheap
Jordan Kovacs - Who
R.j. Stanford - Who

I'd keep Satele, Shelby and Daniel Thomas and let the rest go. The only one wroth signing cheap is Matt Moore. There's a weak FA RB class this year and Moreno was a huge rip off at $3M; his salary came to about $120K per carry and that's bad on Hickey. I'm not sure even Gore would be worth $3M this year. Clay's best year is behind him and he will be an injury concern for all of 2015. I'd go with Dion Sims and upgrade to Jermaine Gresham whose 6-5 and has almost twice as many TDs as Clay.

Curious why you think Clay will be an injury risk all next year? I think he really started to come on this year when he finally got healthy. I am not so sure his best years are behind him, though I do agree about his lack of size, especially in the RZ.

Kelvin Sheppard demonstrated to me that he was better than a couple of guys we paid multiple millions of dollars to in 2013, so I would bring him back on a minimum contract. Good reserve.

I believe Knee and Hamstring issues will follow Clay the remainder of his career. He had a knee injury during scrimmage and missed pre season and half the year. When he played he wasn't 100%. With the importance of the TE in Philbin's system, I'd just like to upgrade the position and this is a very weak TE draft. I wish we can outbid Cinci for Grisham.
