Actually a pretty decent crop of inside linebackers in this year's class. Who would be your pick?

Derrick Johnson, Kansas City, 33 years old

Jerod Mayo, New England, 29 years old (injured a lot the last three years)

Danny Trevathan, Denver, 25 years old

Brandon Marshall, Denver, 26 years old

Zach Brown, Tennessee, 26 years old (not a lot of starting experience the last two years)

Demario Davis, New York Jets, 27 years old (a decent, but not stellar season)

Jerrell Freeman, Indianapolis, 30 years old (has started every game he's ever played for Indy)

That's a decent list. If I'm GM, I definitely nail down one upgrade at offensive guard in free agency. I'd also like to keep Wake, Vernon, Cameron and Miller. If there's any cap room left, I would either re-sign Grimes or look at a low cost option at linebacker. I like Danny Trevathan from Denver, but he's going to get big money.

I'd look to the draft to fill corner, linebacker and guard. From my knowledge Miami won't have a lot of cap space, although that can change with restructured contracts etc.

that list will be whittled down to nothing after teams get done resigning their own unless you want mayos corpse

Both Cameron and Grimes are under contract. As is Wake.

I'd imagine Denver locks up one of their two, but not sure they have the cap to sign them both.

I could see the Jets drafting a linebacker to replace Davis. He's not a great linebacker but he's good enough.

Rumor is that Mayo has played his last down in NE, but he's a shell of himself.

Tend to agree with Hoops the only one that I think will be free is Mayo I guess maybe Davis. Hopefully we draft a LB and CB first two rounds.

maybe one of those broncos comes free but the only options that are mike lbs in a 43 (if we stay in a 43) are mayo and derrick Johnson and they both come from a 34 pro background and are both long in the tooth...mayos pretty much damaged goods now I'd have no interest in that derrick johnsons also at that age you better not commit multiple years to him and I'm sure kc will make a push to retain his services on a likely 3 year pact with an out after year 2 worst case

Brandon Marshall is my pick from that list. No more stop-gaps either we go the route of signing a reasonably priced not yet entering prime type of player or draft within the first 3 rounds.

MLB is too important a position for us in order for us to finally turn a corner and become playoff contenders.

The pickings will be slim as far as LBs......go for a top guard in free agency and go corner and LB with our first 2 picks

Ozzy rules

If money isn't an issue then either bronco linebacker or Derrick Johnson

We need both a starting guard and a guy who should be starting at tackle but is behind a great player on his own team. We do need a starting caliber tackle because it's just about guaranteed that one or both of our starting tackles will be injured this year.

I get what hoops is saying about these guys but I'd still try sign someone at the very least.. We could use a vet in the middle.

Realistic options? Idk maybe Zach Brown, Demario Davis, or Brandon Marshall as the top options for me. We can't be spending huge bucks when we know we have a lot of other holes too (guard is priority 1 imo)
