I know we're about to find out about who gets cut and who makes it. I believe there were a few spots up for grabs last night so which players "earn" it and which players didn't in your opinion?

QB-OB played better last night but was that enough to get him the back up job?

RB-With Perry not dressing last night we know who the top 4 are. I really like Howell though and if he clears waivers I'm hoping he'll be in our PS

WR-Did anyone really "earned" that last spot? I don't think so but there's a chance that Ford or Owusu is kept because of Parker and Grant being down but there's also a chance they won't keep 6 at all. At this point I 'd keep a young DE over a 6th WR

O-line. Lots on the line here nu pun intended. Sterup gave up a sack but I believe he did well this pre season and should make it. I believe Smith is cut. Mathews has a good chance to make it at least for now with Brendel down.

TE-Do we keep 4 or only 3? Gesicki,Smythe and Gray are in. Some people here like AJD and his "potential" but so far that potential hasn't translated to anything on the field. Fact is that both Duarte and Escobar did more but we might only keep 3 here. If we keep 4 then we'll only keep 5 WR's imo

DL-Wake,Quinn,Harris,Branch,Hayes,Phillips,Taylor,Godchaux,Spence and Langford seem to be the 10 we'll carry
But I have to ask something here. I like Woodard and Malveux. Both are young with good potential but yet we'll probably carry Hayes and Langford who both could be in their last year in the NFL. Also keep on mind that Wake and Branch could be done with us after this season along with Hayes and Langford. Does the team risk loosing two young players to keep two older ones that are likely gone after this season?

LB-We're gonna cut all of them and bring in 6 new guys.....jk....lol I believe Garvin will make it and Anthony will be cut. Our 6th LB is not on the roster at this point.

DB-We've seen already that Lippett is on the block but does that means we're keeping Tank?
Lucas is in for sure. Can Jalen Davis make it?

That's all for now. What do you guys think?

I think we'll keep 6 receivers just due to the frailty and unreliability of Grant and Parker.

DL- Hayes we keep for run stopping, no doubt. Vincent Taylor definitely helped himself through preseason. (Was there ever a Charles Harris sighting?)

LB- Chase Allen stays, need to comb the waiver wire for 1-2.

CB- biggest disappointment. Went quickly from perceived strength to glaring weakness. Tankersly's big play was a terrible throw by the qb and poor effort on the receiver, so no encouragement there. McTyer's big play was a terrible throw behind the receiver and a missed easy interception, that was luckily caught by a teammate (who will probably be cut). Lippett is out the door. Wow, not one could step up and seize that job.

QB - Osweiler's performance and starting experience probably gets him the job, but hope we don't need him!

Wr - I agree, nobody stood out.

Well I’d say Rashawn Scott definitely didn’t make a case for himself this pre season

Did anyone see Carroo's lack of effort on the endzone pass by Fales? Not the best pass, but he could have bodied up and made a play on the ball. Should have been a pick and it would have been on Carroo. I think dude is done here!

RB's Howell and Radcliff looked like they deserve a PS spot to me. I think Perry has earned a spot on the 53. I'm comfortable with Drake, Ballage, Gore and Perry.

Amendola, Grant, Parker, Stills, and Wilson are all on the 53. Question is. who else, if anyone. Carroo hurt himself IMHO. Ford and Scott look fragile. Morgan had some serious mental mistakes in the kicking game. Owusu looks interesting. Tracks the ball well and adjusts to it. Has nice speed. But he doesn't get separation and he didn't produce in college. You have to wonder why. Don't know enough to comment on Lewis.

Hate to say it but Osweiler looks to have edged out Fales. Wished we could have seen more of Petty. Not thrilled with any of them and darn sure wouldn't waste a spot on the 53 for a third one.

TE could be interesting. You figure Gesicki and Smythe are locks. That leaves Derby, Duarte, Escobar, and Gray. We might keep two of them. Duarte seems like a tweener WR/TE who just hasn't flashed as a pass catcher to me. Gray just hasn't done much in the league. Derby has speed, bloodlines, and size. But everyone knew he was going to be a project. Not much of a blocker either. Escobar is slow and won't break tackles or make people miss. But he was productive in college and seems to know how to find the soft spot in zones with good catching ability. Me, I'd keep Derby, and then Escobar if we have four TE's.

If the thread stays alive I'll put some time into defense in the next post. Off the top I'd say some of the DB's helped themselves (and some didn't). If I could I'd put a couple of DE's on the PS.
