Which quarterback(past or present) do you think Ryan Tannehill will play like?

not sayin he will be as good as rodgers but i think he possesses the same traits rodgers has..

Rogers is a good one. I mean he's a West Coast Offense Quarterback so you've gotta think Rogers from the start. Hopefully Rogers more so than an Alex Smith type guy. Steve Young. Based on limited viewership of Tannehill in college, I think he kind of reminds me of Mark Sanchez too. Hope I'm wrong there, although Sanchez was really good in college from what I remember.

His arm isn't as strong.

I really don't know.

You're ridiculous. Jake Plummer did not have a strong arm. Tannehill's arm is much stronger. Tannhill is nothing like Plummer. Plummer was inaccurate. He looked undersized. Tannehill has way more upside Plummer could even dream of having.

I think thats exactly what he was saying, Plummers arm isn't as strong as Tannys.

Romo is who I was thinking to. Size, arm strength and mobility seem about the same. 95% of the time Romo is a real good Qb, I would not be upset with someone similar to him.

Tannehill reminds me of two QB's, Rich Gannon and Vinny Testaverde.

Both guys ticked the boxes physically and we're bright, good people, but both took quite a few years to master the nuances of reading defenses and making their quick progressions. Tannehill's rough edges are reading defenses, progressing off his primary target when he is covered, not staring down his receivers, and avoiding tunnelvision over the middle. Those problems all cause interceptions.

I can see a major confidence crisis resulting from being pushed into a starting role before he has sanded off those rough edges. IMHO, patience is a virtue. Both Gannon and Testaverde became far better QB's after they mastered those nuances. Tannehill's can as well. But, if he is thrown in before he is ready, I expect a rookie Vinny Testaverde 2.0 at best.

Absolutely all those best qualities of Unitas, Elway, Montana, Marino and PManning.

edit: oh I forgot Fran Tarkenton, YA Tittle and Norm Van Brocklin .. sorry.

I think he will be a Jay Fiedler, Jeff Garcia, or a Tyler Thigpen type. I don't think he will ever be that good, though. If he is half as good, as Garcia, Im satisfied though. Somebody I talked to, said maybe a Jeff Hostettler. A decent quarterback.

I think he falls somewhere between Tony Romo and Aaron Rodgers. When he's on the move, Ryan Tannehill reminds me a lot of Rodgers.

I said it before we drafted him, that he looks alot like Rodgers just bigger. We can only hope he ends up being as good if not better then A rod

From the very limited action I have seen him in....I see some Gannon and Favre. At first though when I think it was against LSU, I wasn't impressed much and like some, thought the 8th pick was a bit high for him. But he's grown on me since then and after we drafted him I was OK with it. Checked out some more footage of his performances and think that he's got a pretty good chance at succeeding here.

I wouldn't be surprised at all if he turns out to be a young Favre type QB.....

Then again, I wouldn't be surprised if he turns into Jim Druckenmiller either....

We'll see, but having his former coaches here and an understanding of the playbook will definitely accelerate his transition to the NFL so I think we'll see sooner rather than later what's the deal.

A mix between Jacory Harris and Sage Rosenfells.

Based on the offense he's working in I think he'll remind us of sort of a cross between Jake Plummer and Jay Cutler, during their time as Broncos.

From 2003 to 2005 with the Broncos, before he started to lose it...Jake Plummer was 769 of 1279 (60.1%) for 9,637 yards (7.5 YPA), 60 TDs (4.69%) and 34 INTs (2.66%). He also rushed for 145 times for 558 yards (3.85 ypc) with an additional 6 TDs. He fumbled 14 times but recovered 10 of his own fumbles. He was sacked 51 times for 298 yards in losses. His teams had a 32-11 record.

When Plummer was 32 years old he was slipping a little, was 175 of 317 for 1994 yards, 11 TDs, 13 INTs, with 18 sacks for -111 yards, 36 runs for 112 yards and 1 TD, 7 fumbles but only 1 recovered by himself. That was Jay Cutler's rookie year. Given Plummer's emotional state of being, his play probably reflected his being upset about the Cutler situation.

Jay Cutler himself with the Broncos was 762 of 1220 (62.5%) for 9,024 yards (7.4 YPA), 54 TDs (4.43%) and 37 INTs (3.04%). He was sacked only 51 times for -307 yards and ran 113 times for 423 yards, 3 more TDs, and 24 fumbles, 6 of which he recovered himself. He was 17-20 as a starter.
