IMHO, its stafford.. but who do you think?

This is how I view it..

Matt Stafford had a slow start for multiple reasons (poor OL play, Pettigrew starting out slowly, Megatron being hurt, lack of a running game), but with all the WRs healthy, Brandon Pettigrew coming on in the 2nd half of the season, and Smith/Morris/Brown bringing a threat of a running game, Stafford is starting show why he was considered the number 1 overall pick when he was a senior in HS. He'll only get better, but he needs an OL

Josh Freeman has all the physical tools you'd like in a QB, and has shown it, but he also has the worst supporting cast of the 3 rookies. Freeman also has big questions on reading a defense, and has shown some struggles in his 3 starts. If he can get over the mental aspect of football, he should be fine.

Mark Sanchez has talent, but he has the weakest arm of the bunch but is probably the smartest. However he's shown that he is more of a project than most people thought he would be and he would've benefitted from a year watching and learning. I think if NY is patient with him, he could become a Pro Bowl QB, but I doubt they have that patients. Plus, Sanchez has shown immaturity in the face of adversity, so he's got some growing up to do.

stafford will end up being the best of that group. if tampa can find some talent to surround freeman with, he's next in line. sanchez doesn't have the mental toughness (not yet at least) to deal with jet fans so i don't think he makes it new york - he's got a ton of maturing to do before he'll be any good IMO.

I like Freeman. He has all the tools. If TB can get a supporting cast around him, he'll be a good one. Same thing with Stafford. Now that that offense is getting healthy and Pettigrew is coming along, he should start to come around. Sanchez has a lot of work to do. He has tools around him, doesn't seem to be helping though. Granted the playcalling hasn't been too good, being they throw the ball too much when they should be running, but still. Sanchez has a lot of growing up to do, and the mistakes he makes on the field are absolutely terrible. You have to wonder if he's been told it's ok to throw the ball away or not, because running out the pocket and forcing the ball rather than just throwing away is not a good sign. You can only cry "Rookie Mistakes" for so long.

Yeah I have to go with Stafford. I was high on Sanchez before, I thought he was a better prospect than Henne. But now I don't really think so. Maybe next year with an offseason, he COULD get better. But I am starting to doubt the kid. He looks afraid out there.

I'm already on record of the opinion that Sanchez edged out Stafford as the best QB in the draft....even though he was the most inexperienced of the 3....but that he NEEDED to stay in school for another season and get more experience....

You don't draft QB's for the their rookie seasons....you draft them for what they'll be down the road....

Stafford was obviously more experienced and played in the premier conference in college football...and being an SEC guy saw plenty of Stafford....he was the "safer" pick for any team picking at the top of the draft that was in the market for a quarterback...

Sanchez needs to mature between the ears...which is why he needed another year at USC....and he's getting into some bad habits fundamentally....this is inexperience combined with expectations...

His drops are inaccurate and he hasn't learned how to play for the next down yet.....which is surprising under Matt Cavanaugh....but I think he's going to be fine in the long run....

Stafford has always been a slow starter in games...which a lot of it could be atrributed to Mike Bobo trying to get Moreno in a rhythm early in games rather than Stafford....physically very, very talented...

I can see why Henne was thrown in here...but he really doesn't belong...

He has a LOT to learn as well.....he doesn't improvise as well as any of the other 3 QB's......most of Henne's mistakes are still in front of him as well....4 year starters from programs like Michigan don't fall to the 57th pick very often....but there's reasons why he did...

Sitting and learning for a year is invaluable to inexperienced QB's....much less one as experienced as Henne...

The main thing Henne has learned so far is how to not get in his own way....but you'll see his mistakes and bonehead picks when he's forced to improvise....

His fundamentals are sound...this is the benefit of starting for 4 years in a pro style offense in college....and not being thrown in the fire from the start like Sanchez has been....Sanchez's fundamentals are suffering because of it.....I wouldn't count him out yet though....

Back in the preseason I made the comment that even though Sanchez was outplaying Clemens....I would still start Clemens this year and let Sanchez sit....

What Sanchez needs at this point is to be benched...similar to how Vince Young was....and let him sit and learn and develope mentally....be a little more patient as an organization....his physical skills are fine and aren't going anywhere...

Right now it's walking on thin ice as far as ruining him for the future....the next 10 years are going to be more important than 2009...

You mean Freeman? I didn't include Henne.

His arm is strong, it may not be Stafford strong but it's strong.

Second, he has always bounced back from adversity. Every time he has had a bad game he's come back strong the next week.

He's had 3 putrid games but 7 of his 10 games have been good and he's given us a chance to win 7 of the 10. When you look at overall #s they aren't great but you need to watch him every week to understand how well he has performed. He's been the best rookie QB, the other guys haven't played well in 7 games(I know Freeman just began starting).

Stafford - Bad team, strong arm, not as many weapons. Sure he threw all over Cleveland but that's not saying much.

Freeman - We haven't seen much of him yet but what he has shown is the ability to scramble and he has a decent arm. Another bad team though with WRs that have no experience outside of TE.

Sanchez - The most hyped guy of the bunch. Solid team, has a solid WR in Cotchery and TE Keller. Like Junc says, he's made a bunch of mistakes that didn't appear to be anyone's fault but his own yet this is what he will learn from. Jets the best team of the three.

So far all 3 guys look like they will be good QBs. Who's the best? No one right now, it isn't a decision you can make. If I HAD to right now, I'd go with Sanchez b/c as I said, the Jets have the better team out of the three.

Supporting cast:

(Joe Flacco?)Matthew stafford: Huge arm, could use a little on accuracy, pretty good on playaction and on rollouts (i think. not quite sure)
Pretty bad running game (25th), stud wideout in Megatron, also has B. Pettigrew a rookie who could become a target as he matures.

(E. manning?)Sanchez: Not so big arm, pretty accurate for the most part, can scramble, needs not to hold the ball with one hand, interception machine, has great run game, Braylon and Cotchery both Borderline No.1 WR'S. Good pass catching TE.

(Big ben?)Freeman: Very big and strong, big arm, needs to hold ball with 2 hands, can throw really well sometimes, scrambles well, has a pretty bad run game, no wr's, though he has a TE who can be very dangerous at times.

The comparasins are not saying they are as good as who they were compared to, just that they are similar.

So far for me, Freeman has been impressive. I mean that Buc's team was awful before he came in and since then they have looked far more competitive and even shredded a very good Packers defense.
