Now,as you all know,Miami has been lacking in the Pro bowl department for quite sometime, and since theres not much to talk about....at least for another couple of weeks or so,lets get everyones opinion and outlook of the possible future Pro Bowlers of our very own Miami Dolphins draft picks of '09.I'll go first:

As a HUGE offensive guy....I cant really say anyone we drafted on offense is a clear-cut future Pro Bowler, but then again,Marcus Colston was like....the 245th pick in '06,so you know how that goes....

POTENTIAL=

Anyways,I would have to say Sean Smith is the closest to a Pro Bowl guy.And thats jsut my opinion, cause to get in the Pro Bowl as corner, youre going to have to be a game changing,or at least a "real" impact corner.I think Sean can be that.He ahs long arms, and played WR his whole life,so theres nothing he hasnt seen of a wideout that he hasnt done or know of.And being a former WR,he has one of the best hands for a defensive back straight out of college in a while. He also supports the run well, and is pretty darn fast for his height.

SLEEPER=

Im going with Chris Clemons....I dont know about safety, that would have to be 3-4 years down the road, but as a special teams player,he is a standout, and I think he can be a successful special teamer, and also its not like eh was a scrubb at safety. He was originally sought of as a 2nd or 3rd rounder, but as you know underclassmen can over crowd the best of the seniors, and also a common case of forgetting someone was still on the board(Rey Maualuga & Duke Robinson).

thoughts and opinions....Miami Dolfans?

Id be happy if just 4 of them contribute and have a good year. REALLY happy :)

1. Dontae Davis...Would be surprised if he is not the starter by the beginning of year
2. White............If he does well the wild kat gets to the next level...Knock on wood.
3.Sean Smith..Need him to develop quick in order to blanket the taller East receivers
4.Turner........Is he the next gadsgen........but faster?????? Hopefully goaline threat.

never heard of dontae davis lol jk...id be very surprised if he made an impact

I think Sean Smith is gonna surprise some people this year. Maybe be a Pro Bowler in 2 or 3 years.

Vontae has all the physical tools to be a Rookie Pro Bowler, but so did Jason Allen, and we all know how that turned out.

If Chris Clemons adds some weight then when his time comes i believe he will shine and be a great player, maybe a Pro Bowler down the road...Maybe

Pat White wont be a Pro Bowler anytime soon simply because there is no Wildcat position on the Pro Bowl Roster. Even though Ronnie Brown might have a thing or two to say about that.

Pat Turner could be one if he starts putting up some yardage. I dont think that TD's will be as much of an issue for him. I see him being our main Red Zone target this year.

Potenital: Vontae Davis

Sleeper: Chris Clemons once Gibril wilson takes over the SS postion

I'm hoping the sleeper from this draft will be JD Folsom.

"Playoffs?!!!"

Did you say playoffs???!!!" :D

Future probowlers? :chuckle:

I'm more concerned with which ones are going to start & actually get some playing time. :d-day:

I think Sean Smith looks like a player. He seems confident, mature and focused.

Clemmons is the guy who I've been reading and hearing about though. Seems a lot of people are high on him. Folsom seems like a strange pick for Parcells & Ireland. He is not a big LB. He seemed pretty undersized in that interview that aquavision had up. Maybe he is a special teams guy?

I'm going to go with Sean Smith for Pro Bowl potential. He's already real good at impressing people, and that's an important part of getting to the Pro Bowl. You have to have something that jumps out about you. For Smith, the fact that he's nearly 6'4" and he moves the way he does, is what really impresses people. Players, coaches and media observers all seem very struck by that. Also, Todd Bowles took the time to compliment his brain, when asked about him. That says something to me. I know there will be all kinds of people that say "what else was he going to say, that he's dumb?" but that's just off base. Bowles could have chosen anything to say about Sean Smith, bad or good. The easiest positive thing to talk about is his size/speed quotient. Bowles chose to talk about how smart Sean is and how quickly he picked up everything. Listening to Sean Smith speak, he does seem like a smart guy. But, if he's a smart guy, and he's also a "physical freak" as some players are saying...you really have the makings of an excellent player.

Not sure why the poll is set up the way it is where you have to pick multiple players. Chances are we've only got one Pro Bowler out of this draft class and we'd be lucky to get that one.

I have a good feeling about most of our rookies, unfortunately, I can't call anyone picked in the first 4 rounds a sleeper, I expect (maybe unrealistically), anyone picked in the first 4 rounds to contribute.

That said, I have been excited every time I read an article about Chris Clemons, sounds like he will be a special player. I guess he's a sleeper, but not to anyone on this board:)

I also LOVE the fact that Andrew Gardner participated in some OTA workouts. He is not long removed from surgery (torn labrum? Dont recall specifics) The kid had great skills at tackle in college and if not for the injury would have been picked ALOT higher in the draft. I havent been all that impressed with Vernon and could see this kid taking his job next year if he's not careful. I also have to wonder if he could play guard at all, we sure could use the depth if he can.

I don't think any of our rookies will make the pro-bowl this year, however if I was forced to pick our BEST shot, I'd have to go with Vontae. Physically he is probably in the best shape of all our rookies, question is can he make the mental adjustments, and that is a BIG question.

Smith may have a shot as well, simply due to his size. If he can shut down some of the big name receivers in our division, he may get alot of recognition.

Problem is, it takes time for defensive backs to "catch up" to the speed of the NFL, and most of that is mental. We are gonna have some rough spots, hopefully more early than late.

Next year is a different story though.

The draft is like Christmas. The toys all look awesome on TV, they come in a great box, and the kids in the advertisment look like they are the coolest kids in town now that they have that toy.

After the draft we all like to think we got the best new toys on the block, but the sad fact is, most of the gifts either break, or just dont turn out the way you had hoped they would. Now, BP and Jeff Ireland make a good Santa Claus, but even Santa has been known to slip coal into a stocking or two.

As excited as I am about some of the guys we picked up, I want to temper my expectations, because it is just too disappointing to take that GI Joe with the kung foo grip outta the box on Christmas morning and have his head pop off after 10 mins of use.

The guys I have high hopes for: Vontae, Smith, Turner, Clemons, Gardner, White.

The guys I have low hopes for: Hartline, Nalbone, Folsom, White. (Yes, I have Pat White on both lists, he could be something special or a complete disaster)
